i get the feeling that he did want to be at the saints this year, however i think he knew and perhaps the club new that it was better that he was to leave. and who knows, perhaps he'll be in red white and black sometime in the not too distant future
That would delight me. He has been in good form again this year. Not best ever as the media would have you believe, but very good. Note he spent most of it across half back again - about as much time in the middle as he did with us!

Interesting comment on AFL360 tonight talking about the Dockers midfield all being around the 6'3' mark and what impact that has on games and the opposition. Normally clubs look at what the top clubs are doing right and imitate/copy.

So of the quality mids available in the draft who are around that 6'2 range. Marcus Bontempelli is one that springs to mind. Anyone else? Rahul any others?

Also if we look at our midfield, apart from Seb Ross, our players are all around the 183cm mark aren't they?

Does this change who we draft in the midfield?

I don't think it makes too much of a difference. Hawthorn are the best team in the league and they don't have any overly tall midfielders. Just probably the best kicking team we've seen, if anything we need to keep focusing on that.

I've said all along I would love another top 10 pick to give us a shot at drafting Bontempelli. He has some areas to improve on but he definitely has a touch of the Pendlebury's about him. I really think he will develop into a very nice big mid who can go forward and hit the scoreboard. The way he is playing at the moment I can see him being drafted in the 8-10 range. Wouldn't it be ironic if we traded his cousin to get a pick to draft him!

Is there a more overrated player than Jesse White? Does nothing for five years, has one half decent season getting the ball handed to him by a premiership winning midfield and he is spoken about like the savior to any team that needs a key forward. If he does go to a team like the Bulldogs, he'll be average at best, despite being their number one key forward. We have no need for him, would be angry if we went for him.

I bloody hope not, we already have a Beau Maister
There will be a lot of rumours and posts about this player and that. And that's cool.

Whilst I'm not doubting the information provided, I'm trying to understand why we would be going for Jesse White when we have other more glaring deficiencies on our list. Mainly KPD's and a deeper midfield which the club and SW have been saying for a while they will be aiming to remedy over the next 3 months with trading and drafting.

For mine it doesn't make sense.

In 2014 there will be a raft of key talls available with early draft picks of which we will no doubt have access to courtesy of a similar pick to this year.

Can't see it. Bruce, Delaney yes I can understand. Michie yes I can understand. Jesse White nope...

Maybe Watters for whatever reason thinks he can turn him into a defender
