Good to hear that we're likely to land Bruce. Need at least one other 'monster' down back for 2014.

Sounds like there could be exodus en masse at the Lions with one GAWN and four in doubt.....

...surely we'd go after someone on that list, they certainly fit the right age profile for a rebuilding side like us. Also, the biggest question I'd like to pose is; how many decent players do you think will fall through to the Pre-Season Draft? I'm guessing there'll be quite a few this year.

Another left footer for the Pelican to luurve. ;)
Unfortunately, much of the appeal with them is that their kicking is generally higher quality than their right-footed counterparts, but from what I've seen and heard, Josh is more your CJ or Gilbo, than your Hodge, Dal, or Trent McKenzie, in that regard! :(

That was one blight on his game, but his other attributes easily outweigh that slight defiency..!

I don't really care about his kicking ability, as long as he can help stop the opposition's key forwards kicking bags of goals every week. Zac Dawson was the least confidant kick I've ever seen, but since he's left the club, we've become every potential Coleman medallist's chance to stock up on goals. It's going to be nice to have some real pressure on the big guys again.

If we get say Bruce and Delaney we sure as shit won't need all of Fisher, Gwilt, Gilbo, Simpkin, Stanley, Dempster and Roberton back there with them, especially if we're also looking to find spots for the likes of Geary, Wright, Newnes, Webster, Murdoch, Siposs and anyone we draft this year. That would be enough for more than two whole backlines, all of whom you could make a strong case for playing (either due to form or for development purposes)!

B: Gwilt Bruce Wright
HB: Dempster Gilbert Newnes

B: Stanley Delaney Geary
HB: Roberton Fisher Siposs

B:
HB: Webster Simpkin Murdoch

When fit and in form, we could field two pretty decent and competitive backlines with that group.

You'd think if we can get both of Bruce (which seems to be very likely now) and Delaney you'd think that Simpkin, Stanley and maybe Gwilt will be gone.

I'd like to trade away Gwilt and Stanley and get Patton in return from GWS. Don't see it happening but we may as well go for Patton since GWS are likely to land Franklin. A forward line of Franklin, Boyd and Cameron would push Patton out of the team, so the saints could easily land him.

B: Roberton Bruce Wright/Geary

Gilbo & Sippa go forward/mid

Fish?
Gwilt?
Simpkin becomes depth

Stanley has to play forward ARR...If we land Bruce & Delaney surely we can't play all of Hickey, Mac & Stanley?

Agree. We have pick 3 and pick 18 or 19? We need to get one of Boyd or Patton. Desperately.

I think they will keep Stanley and play him forward all next year. Watters has said that is his preferred position and he was just doing the team thing this year. He is not worth much on the trade table at the moment so there is way more upside for us if we keep him and try to develop him for a couple years more instead of trading him for very little this year.

Not a chance in hell GWS would do that trade, but I agree Patton is an option if it looks like we definitely can't get pick 1.

Stanley to me is a back up KPF. I think he only keeps his spot on the team if we dont land another big monster forward.

His best role is a forward but he is just not the answer.

I agree though that he has no trade value which is why i would add him on to another player and even some later picks.

Fisher, Gwilt, Stanley, #3 + our second and third rounders
for
Patton, Bruce, Miles, Adams, #10 and GWS 4th rounder.

Solves all of our issues and still leaves us with a top 10 pick to land Bontempelli ;)

Keep McEvoy. No point passing him along when we can pick up everything we need at Greater Western Sydney's one stop clearence shop hahaha Thanks SOS :thumbsu:

I just popped over to Crow land to check on the situation with Luke Thompson. The couple of responses thus far ranged from value of a 3rd round pick to 'get him in the PSD after he's delisted'.

I thought he looked very promising last year, struggled with injury in 2013 but is 196cm & pretty athletic.

It would be nice to add a few young book ends at FB & CHB like Bruce & Thompson.

Why don't we just swap lists? Trade 44 players except maybe Callum Ward and jack Steven?
