Mark Allen on SEN says that Carlton have offered Jack Watts $300,000 compared to Melbourne's $400,000 ... yet Watts is still considering making the move to Carlton.
I'd be disappointed if the Bulldogs don't at least ask the question. We have plenty of cap space and a need for talls all over the ground

Given he was #1 Draft Pick and despite what some may think - not a total spud (he's shown glimpses as to what he is capable of on the big stage and what he could be in the right development environment), I think we'd have to deal with our first round pick (somewhere around Pick #9/#10) because Melbourne would want to save some sort of face and not want to display to their fans that yet another #1 Draft pick is walking out on the club.

Pick #10 for Watts + Pick #21 maybe? ... we could be getting reamed though - and some will argue that we are overpaying ... but frankly, I don't think Melbourne would settle for anything less.
So we give up a number 1 draft pick who's finally starting to show something to move up in the draft by 11 picks? I think we'll need a bit more than that, the last thing we need is draft picks. Throw in Yarran and we might be onto something.

Perhaps Worsfold will try to do another pick 18 or whatever it was for Wellingham trade.

It's cute that you think Yarran's value will be cheaper because he's out of contract next year.

LOL.

You can have Watts if you think he's worth 10 and Yarran.

As someone else noted, what happens if Neeld joins Carlton as an assistant coach?

Watts might be another McKernan who left North to get away from Pagan.

I don't want to recruit any players who lack ticker.
Its not cute its how it could plan out...we lost Ebert for pick 28 because he chose the Eagles and they would not part with their first round. IF he wants to come home i bet we could use a 2nd round pick for him next year.

You should probably pack it up if you think Currie would offer "similar output" to Mumford. Also try telling North they have a player similar to Mumford who they're not playing.

We don't need speed. We need another KPD and if we lost Mummy we'd need another ruck to work with Pyke who might only have 3-4 years left. We got Tippett to play as the big forward we desperately needed, not to rob peter and help out in the ruck.

Big, quality 26 yr old ruckmen don't just grow on trees. We won't be handing him over to our number one threat for an outside runner.

It was said tongue in cheek, but Mumford hasn't been playing up to a very high standard and for the price you'd be asking would probably be better of looking elsewhere for better value.
Mumford averages 10 possessions, 25 hit outs, 2 marks and less than half a goal a game. Obviously his strength is his follow up work with 4 tackles a game and his presence is unquantifiable in stats. Mumford is 27, not many lumbering ruckmen play past 30.

Do you need a KPD? Johnson, Grundy, Richards, LRT, Lockyer (?), LRT might nearly be done, but you'd have at least the others for at least 2-3 years if you wanted.

His stats match up pretty well with Ryder I bet you'd want the world for him

Colin D'Cops can you clean this thread up? It's gotten way off topic.
Cheers for the heads up.

This thread has turned into a disaster, and repeat offenders are rearing their heads. Makes it an easy decision for us.

Keep this thread on trade rumours for the forthcoming trade & draft period cheers fellas. You don't like a post? Ignore it.

Sweet subject change. IMO Ryder's had better year than Mumford (wouldn't have won Fremantle, West Coast and Carlton without him) he's two years younger, he isn't injury prone in fact his very durable and he is versatile. Though I wouldn't expect the world for him because he's never maintained form for a long period much like Mumford and rucks are pretty easy to find.

Why did he play 15 games last year and miss 4-5 this year is he breaking down? Suspension?
8 possesions game that got you over the line against West Coast or the 13 possesion game that won you the game over Freo. Good Ruckman are still hard to find!

Here's a trade hypothetical I was considering this morning. Happy for it to be shot down but worth considering IMO

Dustin Martin and Richmond's 1st pick to GWS, Richmond get Taylor Adams and Pick 1

RICHMOND GAIN: Taylor Adams and Pick 1 (Tom Boyd probably)
RICHMOND LOSE: Dustin Martin and 1st round pick

GWS GAIN: Dustin Martin and Richmond's first pick
GWS LOSE: Taylor Adams and Pick 1

Trade has some merit in it I think and I think Richmond would jump all over Tom Boyd at Pick 1. The main thing holding it back for me is Richmond's first pick might not be till after pick 9 (if they play finals). Saint Kilda, the Bulldogs and Brisbane will all have better draft picks to offer

That 8 possession game is one of the best ruckman's games for the year, jump all over Natinaui and Cox. Suspension both last year and this year, plus family troubles and a calf injury which was the first time he'd been injured in his career. But again its you changing the subject and attacking the poster's team rather than the argument, which means you got nothing.

I just looked Cox and Natanui won the hit outs against Bellchambers and Ryder and they also took 8 contested marks between them

That must it then, here I was thinking everyone in the game day thread who were watching the game would have a better idea of it, sorry my mistake.

If Dustin Martin wants to go to GWS I doubt they'd give Richmond pick 1 for him considering he is off contract and they have the first pick in the PSD.

Taylor Adams and pick 10 for Dustin Martin more likely.
