Watts is out of contract so Melbourne can't bend us over.
Betts is a quality small forward and he would compliment guys like Dawes, Clark, Hogan and Howe.

What do you think Carlton should offer up?
Don't really know I looked thru your list nothing really jumps out and your pics don't really match up to his value
Betts is a free agent so if they wan him they can get him for nothing

Lol so a 2nd rounder for Watts
Kennedy and McGlynn were traded for picks 39, 46 and 70.

We could take a leaf out of Sydney's playbook and offer Watts more money to get him across.

Since you offered pick 22 and White for Tippett, I'd say pick 22 would be thereabouts for a lesser player. Watts hasn't proven that he's any better than Gunston, let alone Tippett. Gunston didn't get Adelaide a first round pick.

Wouldn't take Aish then. I still can't work out why Melbourne didn't take Wines over Toumpas Wines is huge.
Toumpas was rated as a top three pick. And he will still be a gun, he's in his first season ffs.

It happens every year. I look forward to it happening again next year when Crouch and Dunstan play well from day one while others need to get bigger and stronger.

I will reserve judgement on Toumpas for another year. Another pre-season to build up his fitness will help, but I doubt he will become an elite player.

Gotta remember that Brisbane picked Polec at 5, and he is struggling after three years. Sometimes players don't make the transition to senior footy.

I am surprised that Carlton is interested in Watts - They need key talls, and Jack doesn't fit that criteria.

Kennedy and Mcglynn weren't best 22 players Kennedy played 13 games in 3 years and was offered a one year contract. Do you think Melbourne will offer Watts one year?
Watts is better than Gunston he just doesn't get the same service or protection.
Sydney offered more than what the supposed clause in his contract said.

I was going to mention Robinson he is on the outer with Mick but he seems a little undiciplined
Yeah he does and that worries me a little, Robinson is no star but I think he is solid enough, and 1 thing he gives 100% week in week out and is hard at it, Under MM this year he hasn't been playing much in the midfield, with us he would spend plenty of time in the mid, I just think his hard body would help Jones and viney out.

Definitely the sort of player you need.

nah, if Watts really wants to leave I would think about Robinson + 2 rounder.
Reckon that'd be about fair. Robinson would provide that hard bodied mid with a bit of mongrel about him. Disposal is woeful, but would still easily be a top 10 player for you guys. 2nd round pick is still quality enough to pick up a good young mid.

We get Watts and chance to hopefully see him fulfill some of his potential. Plus keep our first round pick (maybe 2 depending on whether we offload Yarran to WCE) to stock up on quality young mids.

3 way trade, already signed by the respective clubs: Discuss.

Carlton gain Watts.

Melbourne gain Carlton's 2nd rounder and North Melbourne's 2nd rounder.

North Melbourne gain Yarran.

Don't think so.

Blues give up Yarran and a second rounder for Watts! North only give up their second rounder for Yarran!!!!

Better scenario would be Yarran to WCE for their first pick. Carlton's first pick to Melbourne for Watts and their 2nd round pick (early 20's pick). We lose Yarran and drop about 10 spots in the draft and get Watts and a better 1st round pick.

No way either freo or eagles trade there first rounder away freo are set with skilful players like simpson, walters, hill and pearce. And eagles wont give up there likely top 6 pick for yarran I agree hes worth a mid to late first rounder just not too a west Australian club.

I reckon it'll depend where you guys finish. Beat Geelong and Adelaide at home and you could finish with pick 9 or 10 (depending on priority picks activated). Reckon that'd be enough to tempt you. Yarran would play well on Patersons, and isn't the type of player you have a lot of. You gave up a first round pick last year for Wellingham, granted it was a lower pick, but you'd have to say that Yarran at his best is much better than Wellingham.
