I reckon it'll depend where you guys finish. Beat Geelong and Adelaide at home and you could finish with pick 9 or 10 (depending on priority picks activated). Reckon that'd be enough to tempt you. Yarran would play well on Patersons, and isn't the type of player you have a lot of. You gave up a first round pick last year for Wellingham, granted it was a lower pick, but you'd have to say that Yarran at his best is much better than Wellingham.
I certainly don't envy the recruiters of carlton and west coast this off season big decisions to be made from both clubs trade and draft wise

Since you offered pick 22 and White for Tippett, I'd say pick 22 would be thereabouts for a lesser player. Watts hasn't proven that he's any better than Gunston, let alone Tippett. Gunston didn't get Adelaide a first round pick.
It was Hawthorn's first round pick, plus Hawthorn exchanged their second and third round picks for the crows third and fourth round picks.

Yes, but to call Toumpas over Wines as 'huge' is stupid at this stage. You can't make calls like that untill they have played a few seasons.
I still think Toumpas will be equally good, if not better. kid really hasn't adapted as well as Wines, was coming off hip surgery and is playing in the worst team I can remember. I just wonder what would happen if we flipped the script and Wines was at the Dees. They'd have probably made him captain by now.

3 way trade, already signed by the respective clubs: Discuss.

Carlton gain Watts.

Melbourne gain Carlton's 2nd rounder and North Melbourne's 2nd rounder.

North Melbourne gain Yarran.

Carlton gain Watts but lose Yarran and a 2nd rounder ??

Bugger me, that seems like a real win-win ............... NOT !!!!!!!

And a 2nd rounder ??

Pffffttttt !!!

Might be the other way around Mr. Demon !!!!!

No way Robison is a honest player u know what u are going to get, The upside in Watts is huge he is still very young, He has struggled with being consistent, So to suggest melb would need to throw in a 2nd rounder is way off.

Upside ?? What friggen upside ??

Watts has a heart the size of a pea and the only time he dominated was when he played junior footy and was 4-foot taller than the rest of the players.

With Robinson, you get a bone-fide wrecking ball who will protect some of your smaller running players, he is worth Watts AND steak knives for sure.

LOL you are kidding Robbo has had a poor year and just got dropped, I can tell you there is now way Melb would have to throw in steak knives for that deal.

There is no doubt Watts is soft, But so is Yarren but i bet Car supporters want a high pick for him if he is going to get traded.

Spare me the palava please, Watts is damaged goods now and has not lived up to his #1 and is not likely to either.

Robinson may have had a bad season but Watts has never had a good one !!

He'd be worth incredibly more than Watts right now !!

LOL of course he is, your just 1 of those supporters who overrate there players and bag other players.

But the fact is both Yarren and Watts are high draft picks who havent lived up to there potential, Both are soft, but both have upside.

So to suggest Watts isnt even worth Robinson in a trade is stupid, But u think Yarren is worth alot.

Yarran is worth more than Watts - fact !!

Watts is not worth Robinson AND a second rounder - fact !!

The truth is somewhere between the extremes.

Denham said Watts would be at Carlton last year. He's an imbecile who hates Melbourne.

Maybe Watts will go, maybe he won't. If he does, it will be on our terms. Watts won't walk out on Melbourne.

Kennedy and McGlynn were traded for picks 39, 46 and 70.

We could take a leaf out of Sydney's playbook and offer Watts more money to get him across.

Because he demanded to be sent home and walked out on the club. A club, may I say, who were hardly less of a basket case at that stage than we are.

I've seen you post and I know you think your team is all rainbows, but going from Melbourne to Carlton is nothing like Adelaide to Hawthorn. You've had a pathetic season. Less pathetic than ours, but it's been a failure.

If Watts wants to go, he's not going to screw his mates to head to another bottom 8 side. Never mind the fact we're able to offer him more money.

The 22 and White trade is laughable, everyone knows why it was like that.

Mick 'my way' Malthouse, who is almost certainly regretting taking the Carlton job to spite Eddie, will let about 10 players go this year because they don't fit into his mantra.

Yarran will go, Robinson will go - Mick will make sure of it.

We want to keep Watts, you fly off the handle criticising him but it's quite clear you're desperate.

I'm not desperate at all !!

Some players will go, it happens at all clubs but we won't be doing a fire sale to get rid of them either.
