Melbourne have apparently put pick 2 on the table, media are suggesting someone like Swallow.

Yeah, I wish
I see no problem with Melbourne putting the pick on the table just as with GWS putting pick 1 down. But what they will want for it I doubt any club is willing to pay, a ready made A grade medfielder who can get his own ball and has leadership skills.

Yeah, that's the killer. Realistically it would be a player that a club might think they're going to lose anyway for whatever reason, or a club like Adelaide who wants to 'buy in' to the draft. Then of course we have to convince the kid to come to us :(

Lenny Hayes, Simon Black, Daniel Kerr, Darren Glass, Adam Selwood, Dean Cox, Kane Cornes are all on the wanted list for GWS like they did with Cornes, Power, McDonald etc in first year.

If they could add Franklin and a couple of the above without giving up anything they would be in a good position to attract the premium talent with pick 1 as prospective recruits would feel they could improve rapidly.
Cox & Glass won't leave, Selwood will retire and most likely move to East Perth in a coaching role (from what I hear) as good as Kerr has been for us I wouldn't mind him moving on or retiring to free up some salary cap space.

Going to Melbourne may not be as bad as many make it out to be next season. If Melbourne can secure a good coach that will definitely help and when you consider that Hogan will be in, Clarke & Dawes actually on the field at the same time it will help. A lot of people seem to forget that Mitch Clarke was extremely unlucky not to win AA a few years back in the ruck (they only picked one ruckman that year), he also has a pretty large tank so can play further up the ground than Dawes or Hogan.

Personally think that Melbourne is a better prospect than heading to St Kilda
