Are we likely to attract anything but some gusty winds to the MCG in the coming week or so?

We need mids, and quality ones. We lose Col. So right away we are one down without starting the trade period. IMO, we needed 3 quality mids to add to our list. Now with Sylvia gone, that number is 4. Can't see us attracting 4 quality mids this trade period. Will be lucky to snag 1. I really hope Roos is working his magic behind the scenes as we could go into next season in worse shape than this one through the middle.

We simply have to snag a Rockliffe, Shuey or Sloane just to replace the loss of Sylvia. As much as Sylvia was a disappointment, he had a strong body and experience. Something our current midfield lack(besides Jones). So I'm starting to think it will take 3 years(Roos contract period) to get a midfield together that will be competitive(if we are lucky).

If we don't snag a couple of quality midfielders this trade period, where do you guys see us next year? We simply cannot continue to get smashed in the middle of the ground. I'm sick of seeing us lose the possession count by over 100. I'm sure our defenders are as well.
No better than 2013 to be frank. Is that just the mfcss kicking in for the off season?

apparently 1 contracted player and Colyer are heading your way, some seem to think it is Myers or Jetta, I honestly have no idea about this one.

Players can't walk out of Essendon if they are contracted. interesting times I would say.

I have huge hopes for Colyer, he is a extremely damaging player, fast as hell and really breaks the lines but his kicking is about a 4/10 and needs to put more defensive pressure on
show the vids to jason taylor, he wont make it to melbourne fc though so may be pointless

Looks quick. Judging by his size, I hope he never comes across Clint Jones in a dark alley ;) Would add some much needed pace. We need mids badly though, so he'd need to be able to play almost 4 in the midfield. Stats suggest he's able to play 3/4 game time, but how much of that would be guts?

Seems odd that we'd go him and Stanton, as he's far from the quickest. There was talk of Myers early in the week so maybe more likely if fair dinkum.

often the sub, but only needs to get 17 possessions and can kill a team. would make a very dangerous small forward, it is just Hird and Bomber like defensive players compared to the real aggressive players like Colyer, so will need to learn how to defend better.

Trusting Roos judgement on it. I had the same concerns as you, and the potential implications, but have faith that due diligence is being done.

Surely a potential club is able to pop the question and expect the truth. The player's career would be done if they withheld that information. Having said that, the player would probably be done anyway.....

My main concern would be our history with Bombers pick-ups. I'm thinking whoever we pick up has said they want out due to the goings-on, rather than being basket cases.
