Sorry meant GWS but not liking Sydney the city. O'Rourke and Jaksch are the two big ones I mentioned months ago. Outside of that I would only be guessing on rumour. An educated guess is Treloar could be coaxed out for decent cash. Would be overs but that's how you get them.
I would trade pick 2 for Treloar in a flash - that boy is a gun. Been their most consistent mid over the two years aside from Ward. He's been impressive in the GWS games I've seen and I don't think #2 would be overs for a 20 year old with two very promising seasons under his belt.

Do you think there could be any chance at all in us getting Hannebery? Boy would I love him in the Red and Blue outfit...

Yeah, didn't think so. Moreso wishful thinking than anything haha.
I have to admit when I heard we were thinking of trading with Sydney my hopeful heart immediately jumped to Hanneberry too, but then I realised how preposterous it would be haha. Would almost back us for finals next season if we got Hanneberry, Wingard, Dangerfield, etc.

Yep same, haha.

If we were miraculously able to get all three of Dangerfield, Wingard AND Hannebery, oh my I would be so damn happy haha.

But then again, chances of even getting one of them, not a good chance.

I have faith that either way that we will get some good, hopefully great players.

Afl have just ok'd the Franklin offer from swans . What a farce . Just waiting for Buddy to collect $1M on top as ambassador as well .One question to the fat controller: How does this help equal up the competition ?

I don't reckon in this instance they really had a choice

Make no mistake, I reckon the AFL would be furious over GWS missing out on Buddy

Insane deal......9 years

To me smacks of the Judd / Visy deal in that he got the ok only for the AFL to move the goalposts for others. Surely there should be a cap on how many years a contract can be offered .ie 5years max .

I really can't fathom the Franklin contract, tbh. Great player but he relies mainly on athleticism to be the player he is today.. he's nearly 27 and already on the downward slope IMO. Just not sure what's going to happen when he hits 30-31, the athleticism diminishes and the contract is only a third through completion.

Sydney's problem, I guess. If they pinch another flag it will be worth it but can see this one ending very badly.

There'll be something in there to cancel remaining years of his contract if he can't perform. Can't imagine anyone being daft enough to offer a long term deal like that - if the AFL has rubber stamped it, someone must have done the due diligence.

AFL statement today said as that the entire contract must be met and will be within the salary cap for the full 9 yrs whether he leaves early

It will bite them in the arse without a doubt. I can see it. You can see it. Our fellow Melbourne supporters can see it. Supporters of 16 other clubs can see it. Brock McLean's mate Blind Freddy can see it. Only ones who can't see it are the Sydney supporters.
