But if you ignore those players who either left or were traded out through lack of opportunity then your just not comparing apples with apples.

Players that left our club did not do so for lack of opportunity. You need to look at those lists and see how many were first choice, required players.
I'm not ignoring anyone. EC stated more players have left Adelaide than any other club.

The facts show that isn't the case.

*EDIT: I forgot to include those that moved within the National Draft (like Luke Ball).

Melbourne - 11
Hawthorn - 10
Brisbane - 10
Adelaide - 9

Geelong, Richmond, Saints, Port & Eagles all on 8.

Yesterday was another reminder why we should at least make Cooney an offer that will seriously make him thinking about changing clubs. Class act.

I certainly hope we are being aggressive throwing $'s around with player managers.

if nothing else, we may put the squeeze on a few clubs caps & something else may shake out...

AA? Think you're getting a bit carried away
His numbers for his role are arguably among the best in the competition. I'm happy to wait and see if he makes the squad. On performance this season I believe he should be nominated. What I believe and what the AA selectors decide could be, and most likely will be completely different.

ADDED: 14 goals conceded in 18 games as of last week.

Why on earth are we even thinking about acquiring Mitch Robinson. Hes a pure tagger, not a very good one at that, and his disposal makes VB look like Pendlebury. Add to that he appears to be a bit of a tool....... no thanks. Sam Kerridge is our guy, good defensive action, goes forward and runs all day.
Only talked with him briefly, but he came across as anything but, and I've met a few toolish footballers before.

bummer if he nominated Sydney
Well that would sum up the Adelaide Football Clubs administration if he had a Tippett style clause in his contract as well. ;)

Adelaide looks after player welfare pretty well. I don't think Hendo will go because he is under contract and the crows wont just give him away. He would have to be two second round picks IMO or a young player and a 2nd rounder. He is a very flexible player which ways heavily in our favour when asking for a quality trade.

can't wait for the day Sydney will need Adelaide to help get a trade done.....will we bend over again or just hold up the finger to them...karma

Been busy and finally caught up on the last 20 pages.

So nothing new except someone thinks we're getting Mitch Robinson...

Unless it's a straight swap for Tambling, no thanks.

In the last 4 years, with movement from Trades/PSD/Free Agency/Expansion recruitment, there are 2 clubs that have lost 10 players:

Melbourne
Hawthorn

Brisbane has lost 9 players, Adelaide has lost 8.

You can argue importance all you like, but the fact is 3 clubs have lost more players than us.
Trading out surplus players or letting them walk to the PSD isn't the same as losing wanted players.

Melbourne has lost players but in the last two years have recruited two key position players in White and Dawes.

In the last 5 years besides fringe players we've recruited Jacobs.

If Martin is still available we should throw everything we've got including the kitchen sink his way, set ourselves up with the best midfield for the next decade.

Although with our luck we'll get caught for salary cap infringement because we put the sink in writing.:p

Jacobs was a fringe player, he was fourth in line at the time.

Didn't stop them from asking for first round picks though.

Of course not, but thats not what you stated.

Not sure I know who White at Melbourne is.

We've recruited Johnston and Lynch, who were former first rounders. I'd rather both over Dawes right now.

Any thoughts on Brisbane losing Clark & Henderson, replacing the talls with Lisle?

And what clubs in the last two years have recruited a load of stars?

(To answer a previous qtn, 9 clubs lost players to expansion sides, 7 did not)

I can see very minimal changes taking place thus year.

Delisting: johncock (retired), Tambling and Joyce

Upgrade: laird, Hartigan

Free agent: none

Trades: none

PSD: none

I think Graham, Martin and Jeansch are safe due to their contract, Callinan will get anither year.

Henderson was traded out to get Fev.

Of the 9 clubs who lost players, who lost players critical to their list.
