Bollocks. Vince didnt leave because he was treated well. LJ didnt re-tweet what he did cos he is happy.
Vader said exactly what I feel about it. McDermott on AA said the same thing. Shopping around the players like they have (Vince, Wright, Lyons, Mckay) does have an effect on the playing group.
We dont need this at our club at the moment.
And unlike you I expect my club to excel. I wont.be satisfied with finishing 4-10 every friggen year.
What makes the situation more difficult is the players know why they are being shopped, they see him daily.

It's total mixed messages though. Criticisms because the team isn't aggressive enough during the offseason and with trading, but then when they do and look at trading out a few underperforming players they're gonna destroy the harmony of the playing group. Total damned if they do, damned if they don't situation. if they sat there and didn't even look at trading Vince, Mackay, Wright, Lyons or a few other surplus players you'd have people going ballistic that they're sitting on their hands.

I missed it, what actually did LJ tweet?
He thinks he's been hard done by because he only got a 1 year contract while Pods got 2.

Cry me a river LJ, he's moving from interstate.

Pack his bags. Can't stand his attitude on the field either. Why didn't you kick it to me? Where's my free kick? Why wasn't I selected?

McDermott your kidding arn't you

Its standard practice when trading for a player that the other club puts up its wish list and if any player is not on the clubs untouchable list then the club will go through the process and engage with player and manager on the opportunity

Welcome to the world of professional sport, with more money comes more risk an greater expectations.....

Moving on Vince and possibly DMac won't have the slightest effect on our players performance in 2014

Agree

How long has LJ been in the afl system 5 years and for how many games?

Memo to LJ..... Knuckle down and earn a contract extension worthy of your performance, 1 year is the reward you get for playing 5-6 games in two years

If memory serves he didn't actually tweet anything - some average punter made a tweet about how LJ must be feeling hard done by for getting one budget contract year while the club goes out and gets a 32 year old Pods on a better deal... except in 140 characters. LJ just hit the favourite button on it.

Oh, so the same one as last week?

Not a new tweet.

We wont get one unless mckernan goes. Cant believe they have so much faith in graham
Maybe rookie list one?
I think it's more along the lines of they have faith in Jacobs not getting injured!

And then faith that Benjamin Dowdell won't quit football for a career as the worlds tallest standup comic.

And failing that we'll put Otten in the 'ol Willy Wonka taffy pulling machine to get another 6 inches on him.

And if none of that works, then maybe Graham might get a go.

Don't forget Osborn, though apparently the club thinks he's a key forward, not a ruckman.

I am failing to see the issue here.

Adelaide want Polec and ask Brisbane what they want for him.

Brisbane says Mackay

Adelaide asks Mackay if he would be interested, Mackay says no...end of story.

It'd be remiss of Adelaide not to ask, Mackay may like QLD, you don't know if you don't ask.

And this is totally different than the Vossy situation, Mackay wasn't sent to tour the Brisbane rooms and be made to get a physical.

People here need to stop jumping at shadows, it's embarrassing.

I was just looking at the trade The Saints did to get Hickey last year can U imagine if we did some thing like -
Adelaide trade picks 23 and 46 and Mckernan
St Kilda trade pick 18 (From McEvoy trade), pick 25 (Dal Santo Compo)

St Kilda get back up to Longer and a pick higher than what they have in 23.
Adelaide get a first round draft pick in 18 and only go down to pick 25.

In terms of rucks, if we dont use our 3rd rounder (46) on somehow getting edwards over then i can see us taking a Ben Brown / Darcy Cameron / Nankervis if they are all available of course. Rory Lobb seems to light framed to make an instant impact

EDIT:

Personally I very much like the sound of Nankervis

#65 North Melbourne - Toby Nankervis (TAS – KPF/Ruck)
Height: 199cm, Weight: 101kg, DOB: 12/08/1994
Recruited from: North Launceston
Style: Jonathan Giles
Player comparison:
Range: 30-rookie
Profile: Nankervis is a big Tasmanian and was named as the u18 All Australian ruckman. He is a year older but a strong improver since last year. Nankervis is a very strong body and is capable both through the ruck and up forward. He’s not a dominant ruckman but as a ruckman is more someone who will follow up well and find the footy around the ground. As a forward he’s more of a big bodied presence and an improved contested grab but also ok at ground level. By foot Nankervis is also reliable. He’s not an athlete with limited pace and a slow turning circle but he works hard to spread from the contest and cover the ground and giving repeat efforts. The ideal role is as a no.2 ruckman for a team as a competitive ruckman who can also be a factor up forward.

Moving on players who underperform is healthy. Its a good thing dammit. Players who bust a gut and want to win a flag deserve better than to play alongside blokes who coast along and don't push their ceiling.
You happy then to trade out Sauce, Thompson, Wright, Porps, Pets, Radar etc? Its called list managment. You manage the list, not just manage to piss the list off. And dont compare Blight coming in and getting rid of 3 old players to shopping around 20 year olds who are in contract and unaware they are not wanted at the club. We want to have an enironment where loyality is required and given, you know, since we have Danger and Sloane coming up for contract renewals in the coming years and they are going to be tempted by big offers to go home, and we are all going to hope they are loyal to our club.

I would think if we are in fact moving on McKay we will try upgrade pick 23 with him.

Try use our next pick for Edwards. Although would that pick be completely meaningless to GWS unless they package it up in another deal- this could be the stumbling block if GWD do want to keep him as they would be giving him away for nothing. Other option could be Luke Thompson, especially if Saints wont give Fisher and they lose Bruce.

Reckon we will just use the 1 pick with 2 rookie upgrades. No use delisting too many, even solid depth players, to replace them with speculative late picks in shallow draft. Better off keeping them 1 year and chopping dead wood next year with better picks.

Can only see us using 2 picks if McKernan goes and we cant use what we get there to increase our 1st pick.

They will be loyal if they are properly remunerated AND the club has success, and we will not succeed with the backbone of the playing group we have had for the last 5 - 7 years.
