With the opening of DT not too far away, discussion will more than likely heat up.

Discuss potential forward options in here... Whether it'd be a rookie, mid-pricer and/or premium. :thumbsu:

I'm very eager to see how Tomma-Hawk holds up in the preseason. Anybody got any idea how his back is?

What do you guys reckon about Taylor Walker? His price makes him very tempting but might not be on the field til round 5.

"2014 position: Forward
2014 price: $282,900
Bye: Round 8

Last year's average: 61.4
Last year's high score: 73"

"The downside?

Walker has flagged a cautious return to footy through the reserves, and isn't expected to play senior footy for the Crows until round five at the earliest. That means coaches will need patience (and six solid options on the field) if they want Tex in their side from round two.

Adelaide also loaded up in the trade period with forward pair James Podsiadly and Eddie Betts, meaning Walker will face greater competition for AFL Fantasy points when he does return."

Seems to me you wait until he returns and plays his first game. If he looks good and scores ok then jump on him then.

For me I will not be having 282k sitting on the bench for 5 (possibly more) rounds on someone who is coming off a major injury. Spend the money on a playing rookie early and be prepared to use a trade for Tex if he looks worth his price. Chances are your rookie will make some money in the first 5 rounds anyway and the trade will be cheap.

Mayes, Pavlich or other (mention) under $400k?
Adam Tomlinson and Dayne Zorko for me.
Zorko's been playing some midfield at match simulation and is fitter than last season. Hopefully Leppa sees he's a good midfielder and puts him in there a fair bit. 85-90 average for mine. Also, he hasn't missed a game since his debut- excellent durability.
Tomlinson's elite endurance will help with the interchange cap. He's in his 3rd year and should improve. The opposition will forget about him thanks to GWS' other key forwards. Great durability too.
Rioli could actually be a decent option too. He should up his average by at least 10 points.

Caddy did nothing to turn me off him tonight.

I didn't even realise he was a forward until this morning. Was actually considering him as a mid for a few weeks or so now, and last night was a very nice showing for him. Hopefully he can back it up in their second game if he plays.

This is what Leppitsch had to say on Zorko:

He's had a great pre-season, hopefully spends some time in the midfield this year.

He also said Rockliff would spend more time in the middle than forward and Hanley would play both mid and defence, and has even played a bit on the half forward line.

And for anyone who has Lewis Taylor:

Lewy's had a slow start after his foot surgery, I expect him to play some senior footy this year.

Has had a good pre season, imo we will be winning a lot more games this year and Wrighty will be getting his hands on the footy a lot more. Had a really off season last year and I think he's too good a player to have another one.

Just my opinion, wait and see.
