Since it's getting close to the first game of the season I'm going to change the time limit for the selection to two hours from tomorrow morning. If we're still struggling by the end of tomorrow, I'll make it an hour for Thursday. I'd really like to wrap things up by the end of Thursday.

If you don't think you'll be able to make your selection live during the next couple of days, please change your settings to "automatic selection" and get your rankings in order.

Basically it means when a player becomes available on the free agent list (which happens for all unsigned players after the draft or any players after that time that are delisted) there's a few days where anybody can try and sign the player. Whoever has the highest priority (which starts off based on initial random ladder order) signs the player after the time limit is over. The team who signs the player then has their priority ranking reduced to the bottom of the list (to stop the same team signing all the contested free agents).

Does that make sense? It's too early in the morning for my posts to have much clarity.

yeah it happens for after the draft and for a day or 2 after each round I think. After that they become unrestricted free agents

You should have McLean through tomorrow before the next game though. Our squads aren't locked until the first game on the Saturday (and I think that this means the first Saturday game of the second week for Round 1)
