Looks like we get to choose from a player we want, a player we want, another player we want, or maybe a player we want but didn't expect to be there.

Damn FJ will earn his keep picking which one this year. Weller for me if there. If not then the best attitude/smarts with footy skills, followed by athleticism. Just because smarts, skill and brain speed beat everything else for being along run good AFL player. But we need speed. Weller provide the whole box to me. Then I will be happy any which way. :)

Tigs I like the way you have constructed this list. I will use it on draft night to tick them off and keep track of who is available.

My ideal draft using your list

12 Weller (by a bees dick from Ellis and have written off Duggan as no chance)
33 Maynard would be a steal and complement the Weller selection beautifully
52 McLean or Gore if we mis Maynard
70 Howe

Great Job, handy list, thanks
You will be the first to work out which player I've massively jinxed. :D

I won't go postal or anything but I'd certainly be disappointed if we overlooked Weller. He's literally the perfect player to add to our current squad - provided we get a bit of grunt later on. Give me Weller (12) + Miller (33) + Gore (52) plz
Who knows,This so called foot injury may see Ellis slip.

I didn't know that about him CM. That is amazing and says alot about his determination. To become an elite junior in the face of that type of adversity. Hats off to the young man....The kind of person you don't mind around a footy club (as long as he contributes on field, which is very important @ the highest level). Must still be a very solid prospect to be going about 50ish in a "strong" draft...
Full credit to the bloke for overcoming such an injury, but surely at AFL level such a disability would be a concern for recruiters. I'd be really surprised if he didn't slide into the rookie draft.

He's had it since he was 2 so doesn't really know any different, in that sense it's not really an impediment. Apparently one of his coaches didn't even know he was missing an eye until after like a full season of coaching him! Great story and seems like a great kid, hopefully he gets a shot somewhere.

I fear the commentary BT and Dennis may produce with him though...

It must affect his peripheral vision though, I am sure he has learnt how to compensate, but if everyone expects someone as talented as Caleb Daniel to slip through to the rookie draft just because of his height then I expect similar for only having one eye. I hope he gets a chance too, hope he gets picked up in the National Draft, but given how safe recruiters play it in the ND that's just what I expect to happen.
