Whteva flots yor boat.

So i'm guessing you would go the 3 wins over Wright or McCartin.

Uh... yes.

And that's whats great about Big Footy everyone has an opinion, we don't always have to agree but it sparks healthy debate doesn't it.

Love to hear from others to see where they are at, 3 wins or Wright or McCartin?

I think you heard plenty from the other thread where everyone disagreed with you.

I don't rate what these guys say particularly highly especially at this stage but credit where it is due I had been struggling for a comparison for Wright and Ottens is a pretty damn good one.

How 'bout a bloke who was potentially going to land at the Lions in Kurt Tippett?

Another 3 wins?

His name crossed my mind but he plays fairly differently to the other two, so I can see why he might not be mentioned even if he has a similar body shape.
Opinions are like arseholes, everyone's got them.

I find the number of opinions frequently outnumber the number of arseholes people have though, unfortunately. :(

I know a dude with two arseholes. Its not natural and super messed up

Obviously this years picks are yet to be finalised but it must be a tantalising prospect for Lions fans for the forward line to be comprised of the likes of Wright, Hammelmann and another (whoever develops well out of Close, Paparone and Freeman) as well as the speedy brigade of Taylor, Green and Zorko... Hopefully for the Lions they will be a powerhouse forward line but there has to be patience as we cannot expect the young KPPs to reach their peak for at least a few years.

Yep, l am liking the sound of Hammelman, Wright and Close forged with the mozzies of Taylor, Green and Zorko.
I don't think Papperon will be a KPF, l think he will be more of a link up man who can pop up with a goal a game. Heres hoping.

Hammelman hopefully will show more in the last part of the year. He finally has his body right and is feeling good after a strong champs. I wouldn't be surprised to see a couple of real strong showing from him and would not at all be surprised if a club bids a first rounder on him forcing us to use a second rounder. Developing a lot better than I expected, really impressing me he is.

Do you think that if for example Hawthorn or Fremantle (late 1st round) nominated Hammelmann, that Brisbane would match that with using their second pick without question?

I think Hammelman will need to put in a few really strong performances during the last part of this year as he seems to struggle against the bigger more matured bodies. He needs to prove that he can compete at a high level against men. i think the lions will tend to lean more towards Ubergang and Dawson as their academy draftees. they seem to be the further along in their development and the lions need someone to step up into a key forwards role as soon as possible.

Have you ever watched these guys plays. Sorry but Hammelman and even Jackson are miles ahead of ubergang. Wouldnt even have Ubergang in draft talk at this rate.

Don't see why they wouldnt he ticks all the boxes. Level headed and really committed as well.

The Lions will be picking the player with the most potential which, imo, is Hammelmann. They arent going to pick the player who can make the most impact on day 1 of next season.

Yeah, Uebergang seems like a rookie list project player. A few clubs might look at him late in the draft due to his potential and it might be a case similar to Freeman last year, although with there being quite a few talls this year, demand might see him overlooked.

On what basis do you think that Ubergang is a better prospect for the Lions than Hammelmann? I can see what you're saying with Dawson, although his latest injury I believe has set him back to perhaps a fourth or fifth round selection for the Lions. However I don't see Ubergang being drafted, particularly with the strength of the KPPs in this years draft pool.
