Well, they are only equivalent in English, because we don't have an umlaut, but in German the ü is a distinct letter and not interchangeable with ue. So the German for overpass (adopting your translation) would always be übergang.
Back on topic, I would still like to see him do more to put himself in the frame for the draft.

Germans still use ue instead of ü if they don't have a keyboard with accent characters though.

I'm thinking the spelling has changed/been transliterated, umlauts confuse English speakers.

But yeah, his stock does seem to have dropped a bit recently in my estimation(not that you can read too much into these things).

One could say he's being passed over. There's a transition of favour between he and other draftees.

In an open market we'd be low chances to get anyone's signature but with the Irish guys we might just have the inside running.

"Sure, you can go to a sexy big Melbourne club that hasn't had an Irish success story in two decades, or you can live in the Sun, play for a club that has turned an Irish kid into potentially a top 10 player in the league, and have said player as your mentor..."

From memory, the year Pearce Hanley came out, we were also looking at a tall Irish lad called Brendan(?) Murphy. He was thinking of coming here, then a word from Tadgh Kennelly convinced him to go to Sydney instead as a rookie. Didn't matter in the end as he went back to Ireland not long after.

It is a point in our favour for sure. However don't think we've really made any noises about recruiting Irish or international prospects the last few years. None since Gubby Allen, who spent holidays "scouting" in Ireland, left.

I think they need academies in Tasmania and the NT.
Add a Tasmanian Academy as a sweetener for North to fully relocate to Tasmania in 10 years when that happens.

I thought Friday (yesterday) was the day he northern clubs had to nominate which players they were looking at drafting as Academy players. Haven't been able to find anything about it though.

Maybe I'm Dreamin.

Happened three days before the bidding meeting in October last year.
