If we could do the swap with Gold Coast we could still pick up a Durdin/Lever and someone like De Goey then even more project forwards.

defitnetly like the idea of trading pick 5? for gold coasts 2 first rounders but would that affect hammelman and or andrews??

Academy bidding is done before the draft so based on what other clubs bid, our existing draft selections are locked in for what players we wish to take. We could then trade out pick 4 for 2 later picks if we so wish. I think, Dlanod will know.

For now, that's how it works. Could change.

Would have to assume he would be heading back to Perth (finally), but I wouldn't say no to picking him up if he was interested.

I'd definitely draft Mitch Clark if his head was right. Most of our picks will be tied to academy draftees probably which will make it tough.

There was mention of it on On The Couch but nothing concrete. Just a suggestion that he was possibly nominating and that if he did he would be a free agent.

Nah, two years of him waiting out the clock followed by him trying to shaft us through the Freo website is enough for me regardless of what his mental state is like at the moment.

Yeah, couldn't imagine Freo not being into him if he is wanting back to the big league. I still reckon Freo's reckless or indifferent attitude at the trade table potentially cost them a flag last year. A Clark type player was IMO the missing link and I have absolutely no sympathy that they lost and didn't land Clark all those years ago because even they knew Clark was worth a shitload more than what they were only willing to offer.

yeah clark at full forward instead of mayne really could have been the changer for the (though his shoddy kicking may not have helped) really good to see karma come back and bite them on the ass, they could have even offerred 16 with 20 late to beat melbourne, its still beyond me why teams try to screw others on the trade table dont they realise what goes around comes back around, teams like st kilda and carlton who were very unhelpful in their dealings with us will also have it come bite them in the ass in the future

Mitch Clarke is dodgey, the way in which he left us was bad enough.. But he took Melbourne for and an absolute ride, banked a cool mil over 2 years whilst holidaying back home and taking happy snaps. He stretched an element of his contract to 'rehab at home', which was included to trump freos offer, to basically have nothing to do with the club beyond a few tweets here and there. There was a string of weeks, right when Melbourne were in the absolute pits that he was taking happy snaps fishing and sun baking, it was down right rude.

Not to mention advertising he would be free to do "weddings" on the weekends at around the time.

He only ever intended to play at freo, as he did initially, but the money was too good at Melbourne, and then he created an out no one can argue with to go home, and what do you know? He will be in a freo jumper next year. This was all orchestrated. It's a con job. And Melbourne should have taking him to court for financial damage but we all know why they can't.

I saw this whole thing coming, I explained to a few dees mates who thought I was a looney at first, and now they are very much saying "you were right about Mitch".

This comment might not be popular but it's my opinion on him and if you sit back and analyze how it all unfolded it's pretty plain to see - if I was a dees supporter I'd be furious if he ended up at another club, I also don't want him at brisbane.

He had/has an illness, so I'm not going to be calling him dodgy or anything else.
Having said that, it just wouldn't sit well that;
  1. He wanted out when things were going down hill and he was required, if he wanted to come back here when we are possibly in more need but on the way up. Or,
  2. He does have an illness that could render him unable to play. All for giving blokes a go, but, business is business, and we can't afford the risk where we're at.

Hadley is still involved though isn't he? Didn't he just scale back from national down to just WA scouting?

I think Hadley is the SA & WA recruiting manager.

As it stands, Eons is right. Hadley is currently the SA & WA recruiting manager but he still does a fair bit of other work for us too.

I think there needs to be special circumstances for things like this if Mitch comes back. Going via the draft is stupid, he should be considered a free agent, but like wise, he should be restricted to Melbourne as they lost out and did the right thing by letting him go. If they want to sign him back up id have no problem with it. I dont mind if he goes to any club, bug I think Melb should have first option.

Actually it shows a lack of understanding about depression as an illness.

Wow. You've really jumped the shark here.
At best, you're woefully ignorant. Otherwise... well, let's just leave it at that.
