Looks like the game is at Windy. Hill. May have been moved. I might head down myself if I can.
Yeah thanks, it was definitely listed as Visy the other day but clearly has been moved. Looks like being a typical Windy Hill day too - with hail:eek:

To my uneducated eye, McCartin has looked good. Interestingly, his kicking has looked pretty reasonable within 40m or so and I was under the impression that was the big knock on him.

I saw him early in the year and he avoided set shots at all costs which frightened me no end.

I found it pretty hard to get a good read on play into the forward 50 because the wind was absolutely howling. I only saw him miss one shot, and it was very clearly the wind. His other two set shots that I saw, he certainly didn't hesitate to take them. For sure though, his marking and read of the ball in flight looked good (to the extent you can pick that up on an iPhone screen).

Durdin also did a few good things for SA, including one cracking mark in particular.

His goal kicking has been the only negative thing ive seen said about him. You'd think it would be something he would have worked on.
Isn't he the diabetic?

I've seen nothing in Wright recently that fills me with confidence that he'll be anything but a ruckman in the AFL :(

Think we'll be looking at best mid if we have pick 2-5 (McCartin will go #1 in my opinion).

Well that's disappointing.
All I've read/heard for a year is how the next draft will be bursting at the seams with potential KPF talent, and as far as I can tell, Wright is a ruckman who can kick and after #1 you reckon there's none worth taking with a 2-5 pick?

Ended up kicking 2 goals. Looked good, however they listed him at 192/193 cms or something. Isn't that a little small for a KPF. I wouldve thought maybe a 196/197 + would be a good size.

He is a smaller KPF yes, but that doesn't mean everything. Natural ability makes up for 2-3cm in height.

Bradshaw, Fev, Pav. There are 3 KPF who had no problems despite being around the 191-193cm mark. To me, if you can genuinely play that position as a smaller guy, than you a probably a better option than the bloke who is 196cm+ because their height is probably just making them look better than they are. You have to have really good footy nous, read the ball well and have excellent body positioning to do well being that smaller size. Whilst they are more uncommon, the ones that can do it without the extra few cms, are usually top notch.

i watched a half of the game today - not sure how it all ended up, but with the weather the way it was it was not a day for key forwards. The guy from SA Durdin is it? look like he could run and take a mark. McCartin didn't get near it in the time i watched.

EDIT - I may owe you an apology a mayes ing - we may be talking about different games.

Yeah, Vic Country were dire for most of the first half, but McCartin was a pretty big presence after halftime I thought.

Agree on Durdin.

Just had a look over at the saints board to see what their thoughts on the draft were (besides one guy thinking they should get a PP this year...lmao), interestingly enough they were also talking about trying to trade their top pick in the draft for more mid round picks.

A little worrying that everyone is turning off wright and mccartin.

It was the same game. Didn't get near it in the 1st half mainly due to SA having complete control. After half time looked pretty good, could have gotten a 3rd but the wind just took it away. Durdin looks good, l rekon he will go to GWS.
