Looking at the fixture for the remaining rounds it's looking less likely we'll end up bottom two, might have the third or fourth pick, can't see Wright or McCartin being around then.

Your very optimistic what games do you see us winning?

We are a small chance tonight, Tigs next week another small chance, Eagles at the Gabba we should win, Melbourne we are a solid chance, and the Crows at the Gabba we'd have to be a real chance of getting a win there. Be interesting to see how team selection goes over the remaining rounds.

Bulldogs, a lot depends on this week, against Melbourne, they are a chance but you can see Melbourne beating them, against St Kilda they should win, and then maybe the Giants but thats no guarantee. Will be a close call but we have the potential to snare a few wins in the remaining rounds.

Unfortunately or fortunately depending on where you sit the Saints are done this year so i can't see them avoiding the wooden spoon.

GWS should go a defender so they where they finish in comparison to us is irrelevant.

Think Brown's retirement might have changed the equation a bit. We've got a project player playing centre-half forward well before he'd probably be expected to under normal circumstances and Merrett who for all his effort and size is still very much learning the ropes as a forward. That makes beating Richmond almost impossible, Melbourne unlikely, Crows quite unlikely and West Coast some chance. Can't see us catching anyone above us though I do agree we might win another 1 or 2.

Close looked alright tonight and sounds like we might get a decent one out of the academy... Maybe missing the top2 and getting the best mid would be good. Petracca sounds good

Is this 1982??
Also, we have a small chance against Gold Coast.

Saints are ALL OVER McCartin should they have the first pick.I can see them making a point of that too.
The irony is they're probably inclined to opt for him over Wright because they poached Longer from us.

They were discussing the F/S selections in the upcoming draft on TAC Cup: Future Stars and in particular Darcy Moore, son of Peter and eligible to go to Collingwood. Shifter Sheehan reckons he could go as high as pick 5 in an open draft. That being said, the panel believed he will go at Collingwood's at first pick, say in the range 11-15, which is obviously contingent upon another club nominating him.

Considering most club's are intimidated by Collingwood and Eddie and his all his wondrous powers and, note the sarcasm, I still wouldn't be surprised if Collingwood/Eddie bully those clubs thinking of nominating Darcy and they end up being able to get him with their second/third pick.

I think after Eddie's declaration of war on the academies, the frontier clubs will be making sure Collingwood pays full price.

I think we need a KPF who can ruck. Martin is a short term fix and West and Leuenberger don't offer enough forward. So it might depend on how we rate Hammelmann, Freeman and Close as a future ruck option as to who we would pick out of Wright, McCartin and Durdin.
Why do we always have to look for a forward who can ruck, or a ruck who can play forward. lets just get a forward who can mark and kick goals.

Yeah I reckon Wright will be there if we want him.

That said, Jarrod Pickett must be tempting if we could give him the right environment. Alongside Zorko, Taylor, Green and Hanley he'd well and truly cement us as one of the most dangerously quick teams in the league.

I hope we take Witt with our 2nd pick; he's a Birchall clone if I ever saw one. Polish across h/b would be great, allowing Rich to work into the midfield.

One of McCartin/Wright/Durdin should be there even if we finish with pick 3 or 4. It wont be a huge problem, we need best available, we need a KPF, KPD and a midfielder who can win the ball and has some pace to break free of a contest.

With pick 3 or 4 will will address one of these issues. Just depends who is likelh to be there at our 2nd pick (if we have a live 2nd pick)

Don't think we'll go Defensive this year unless it's Durdin who can play Forward

The mini members function before the GWS game Warren mention KPF along with a midfielder with some pace were the main wants for us currently. Will be interesting if we go after that pace with our mid pick.

I think we would be happy to take him with a view of being able to play at either end (if he was the last one left of McCartin/Wright/Durdin) I dont think we would draft him and them try force him into the forward line. Would be handy to have though with Merrett and Staker able to play either end currently, and both are closer to the end.

Really hoping we look at Jason Castagna and Paul Ahern.

Castagna to continue developing as an attacking half back flanker and Paul Ahern to add x factor up forward and through the middle.

From what I saw at the Champs on TV this week, this kid looks like a beauty...Pickett,Petracca and Brayshaw should all go in the top ten IMO.

I am spitting chips at Collingwood getting Darcy Moore handed to them...they must be made to use their first rounder.

Looking forward to this week's games.
