Still playing when he can though. Played a TAC Cup game for the Knights in June.

Had 4 disposals, 2 marks and a goal. Played 3 qtrs if I remember correctly.

I'll remain highly suspicious of any mentions of McKenzie. Is someone doing a very good publicity job on him?

we have some really quick players in the middle but I agree we are just missing polished kicking skills at times, aish and mayes are supposed to be those type of players though it might be due to the game plan but they are both always more inclined to handball not look for an option down the ground. I don't think Brayshaw is the an elite ball user type but he seems to be the best mid along with petracca (who we wont get)

Really looks like pick 4 will be where we settle. Will be very interesting to see what we do with that pick. Saints, GWS and Melb before us. McCartin and Petracca would have to be 1 and 2. Who does Melb go after at 3 is the question.

I noted that Liam Jurrah kicked 14 in his first game out of prison. The knee jerk reaction would be no, but if we got him with a rookie pick you would have to consider him. Yeah there is a lot of baggage, but here is a guy who could legitimately play No 1 forward and would cost us virtually nothing. Team meetings would be interesting because I dont think I have ever understood a word he has said. But if you looked at that Brisbane is a bit more laid back than Melbourne, Jurrah still only 25 but got 36 games under his belt at nearly 2.5 goals a game, I think he is worth at least consideration on a speculative pick.

Understand where you're coming from but I think the last thing on his mind at the moment should be a return to AFL footy.

We haven't been drafting indigenous footballers because of a lack of resources in our welfare department IMO. So even with the boost we've had I can't see us picking up Jurrah.

I think clubs are a lot lot more reluctant to pick up unsavory characters these days. Fev still had ability to offer, never got picked up. Lovett got acquitted, never got picked up. Garlett got picked up after his second attempt, burnt the Hawks. And none of those guys attacked someone with a machete. Krakeour is an exception, got a second chance, but even he didn't live up to what was expected.

We removed any doubt that Fev was a complete headcase, plus he was 31. Lovett sat a lot of time out. Garlett never got started.

Though I do admit his propensity to machete the odd person in the head is a bit of a red flag.

We really need elite ball users in the midfield but I'd say if Wright is there at our pick we should nab him. It'll be tough to juggle picks if we are forced into using our second rounder on Hammelman or Dawson. I feel like we could really use a quality halfback as well.

He's missed some time recently, but I liked what I saw of Cutler for that role.
