With late picks the probability I would be looking at the old injury hampered stars such as Cam Conlon, and mature bolters like Paul Hunter. I know Hunter is a ruckmen and we have 3 genuine and one developing but I think 5 is the number for the Gabba and a 3/2 split is the go.

So if we do manage a third round pick with the Beams trade, what do we see as the type of player we try to bring in?

I don't feel a midfielder is a real need anymore in light of recent 'developments' and with the possibility of Keays next year. Also think we will pick up Hammellman and or Ubergang with a very late pick or even rookie.

I am a little biased but I have been reading up on Keenan Ramsey who by reports played a large part in S.A winning the U18 champs. He dosent have the profile of Durdin, Lever or Marchbach so he is a fair chance to be available. Reports have him between 192 and 194cm. Also reported to be a very good kick and I think he topped one of the goal kicking/ kicking tests at the combine. Plus he is a right champ having overcome cancer at a very young age.

If it is a third or fourth rounder we acquire in the Beams trade, there'll still be some talent floating round. In the past we've had a penchant of selecting players from the u/18 AA team and I wouldn't be surprised if we get one from there again.

I wouldn't mind an out and out small-medium sized defender with the pick.

Harrison Wigg or Jackson Nelson fits this category.

ZOB seems to be Senior list, otherwise I think he should be upgraded?

I think we hold try and get a delisted free agent or 2....
Leroy Jetta?
Jordan Shroder?

I would get plenty of rookies too......

Pick #67

2009 Jeromey Webberley (RICH)
2010 Andrew McInnes (CARL)
2011 Jarrod Witts* (COLL)
2012 PASSED
2013 PASSED

*Priority NSW selection

Probably won't be pick 67 come the actual draft because of teams' limited list spots. Maybe have a look at 60-66 and see if there's one we should hope for it to become. :D

Did we just need it for a Rookie upgrade for Bourke o_O

No, we have at least three spots free on our senior list. Unless we're filling all of those three by signing DFAs or upgrading rookies, it will still be a live pick (and could still be anyway if we want to have more than 38 players on our senior list).

Dear 2014 draft,

I regrettably am not able to participate this year. This doesn't mean that I have lost interest in you. A number of years ago the interest that I have in the draft brought me to Bigfooty, maybe to my own detriment, and I have been able to question and listen to other's views on prospective draftees to take the Lions forward. Last year was like no other and felt it was like Christmas morning, however something very special has happened this year and even though we had to use you we have added some very important pieces to our team. I will be back next year to again find and learn about prospective draftees, I might already have. I hope that you understand and have a great night, not too good though. Take care

I feel sorry for pick 21

clearly no-one wants that guy

21. St Kilda (traded from GWS to Brisbane for Joel Patfull, passed on to Geelong for Allen Christensen, traded to St Kilda for Rhys Stanley)

How much does that look like the saints were left holding it when the music stopped.

Probably end up being the next Nathan Fyfe after all the changed hands.

It also started with us as the Jared Brennan compo pick, went to GC that year, went to GWS in a mini-draft trade before getting passed around this year.
