It's a bit cliche ridden and has a touch of "heard it all before" but nothing really there to get annoyed about...

Anyone know where to find a listing for who has what picks for preseason/rookie drafts? Can't find anything on AFL webside or the BF draft/trading board. Main interest is in seeing how many picks we have to dodge in preseason draft if we wanted Hammelman or any other academy picks.

Just read an article about Marcus Ashcroft's son, Will, being accepted into the Suns academy.
Does this mean that he goes to the Suns due to their academy or to us with the father/son rule?

I think he gets the choice but who knows what the rules will be in EIGHT years time.

Why ridiculous? Thought it was informative and l wouldn't have heard about it if it wasnt for the article.

If he gets the choice, then l can't see him choosing the Lions unless he is a diehard Lions fan. In 8 years of growing up in the GC and being in their academy, he will probably choose them.
But heres hoping.

He's 10 years old. I think it's perverted speculating on the future of a 10 year old. He's 10, just let him enjoy footy. Also, a lot can happen in 8 years.

I saw that a bit earlier on tonight.....it seems to me that he is in a very good position with a choice of two clubs who both will want him. Apparently we will be/have asked him to train with us as well.

I also feel he will go with the SUNS if he turns out to be good enough.

My suspicion is that it is really just because he is Marcus's son and there is the slightest of potential for there to be some conflict between club's in just under a decade from now. There are plenty of 10 year olds that are not too bad at kicking a footy. This one is no different from 1000s of others.
