Having a quality KPP is what is important grading them is something I don't believe in they are either quality or they are not. If you kick over 50 goals in the AFL you are quality.
When did kicking 50 plus goals only become evidence of a gun KPP and not a quality b grade KPP?

OK Schultz May not have been A grade, but he has been this season, so as such, is. Petrie has been a very, very good KPF, I would call him a gun. Your rating of A v B seems very harsh. And Franklin has done pretty well at Sydney this year, taken them from 4th to 1st - that's a massive jump at the top. 10 times harder to go from 4th to 1st than 16th to 8th
Franklin is a gun KPP, he dominates big games, this is what guns do.

Fair enough if you have a lower rating of guns, but to me they dominate big games.

Schultz does this week and gets port over the line I will agree, until then with the ball movement he has had the amount of goals he has kicked is evidence of a good b grader.

Petrie still has not performed for any period of time in big games. A good KPF yep agree, a gun no way

There is a difference between quality and a gun and allot of quality KPP's have been picked up 2nd round plus. We have not drafted one since 2010

The reason we haven't is because we had massive holes that needed to be filled in the midfield and (partially) in defense otherwise we wouldn't have got the ball to any KPF to begin with.

We have finished filled the majority or those holes so we will likely add more potency to our forward line this year in the form of a KPF and some quality 30 plus goal kickers.

In the league gun KPF's
Franklin
Hawkins up to 2 years ago
Cloke up to 2 years ago
Roughhead
Reiwolt (st.kilda)

There are then a number a quality b grade KPF's that are critical to their teams structures and big forward mid guns like Pav

All I am saying is looking for one gun is as much about good luck than anything else. You need numbers to try and get 3 or 4 quality b grade KPP's for a good structure

90% of guns are mids

Agree, 3 or 4 quality b grade KPP's would provide a massive boost to our team structure. With a bit of luck we may get a gun

If Ryder goes to Brisbane and Minson goes to Sydney we should get Luanberg --Thoughts
Massively overrated footballer IMO but well need someone to tap the ball. Perhaps we could reinvent Cooney as a ruckman? He out tapped Cox FFS, he might be our greatest weapon in there.

Geez they've pretty much described the perfect flanker I want to add into the team. Love to hear about how much effort he puts into improving studying tapes and what not, that would be a huge plus to our recruiters. We're definitely missing an absolute weapon of a boot down at HB and he's also a great size and love that he's got a bit of mongrel too.

Think this draft would be perfect to grab multiple picks in the top 25 odd. Menadue/Viojo/McKenzie.

I feel like landing Wright at 5 would need a lot of things to swing our way. Surely the temptation of taking a KPP like McCartin is too much for the Saints, ditto Wright for Brisbane. Talented KPF's aren't easy to find, and both clubs have the same KPF problems as us; surely they wouldn't pass up the opportunity to grab McCartin and Wright, when it's right in front of them.

I've watched a few Jets games and he stands out as being a good AFL prospect. I can certainly see him having a good AFL career. He seemed to own the backline, not by defensive standards, but just being in the right places at the right time. Knowing when to run off and receive.

If we could get another 2nd round pick I'd love for us to pick him up

Just re-appearing again.

What Paige is saying has got legs. Saints, provided they keep the pick, are going to go Petracca.

It doesn't assure you of Wright, but it very much opens up the possibility. Melbourne are still unlikely to go KPP if they have one pick. If they have two it might be a bit different though. Leppa's comments could be smoke and mirrors but he could genuinely not rate the talls available. GWS are unlikely to go KPF.

Lots of water to go under the bridge but I think there's a 40-50% chance you get Wright or McCartin at 5/6. Good news.

Stop it. My trousers have enough issues fitting as it is without news like that.

What happens if we don't get Wright or McCartin? What KPF do we pursue? Do we attempt to trade for one, or take a flyer on McKenzie with our second pick provided he's still there?
