Just re-appearing again.

What Paige is saying has got legs. Saints, provided they keep the pick, are going to go Petracca.

It doesn't assure you of Wright, but it very much opens up the possibility. Melbourne are still unlikely to go KPP if they have one pick. If they have two it might be a bit different though. Leppa's comments could be smoke and mirrors but he could genuinely not rate the talls available. GWS are unlikely to go KPF.

Lots of water to go under the bridge but I think there's a 40-50% chance you get Wright or McCartin at 5/6. Good news.

BTW thanks for all your informative posts here.

What happens if we don't get Wright or McCartin? What KPF do we pursue? Do we attempt to trade for one, or take a flyer on McKenzie with our second pick provided he's still there?
If Mckenzie is still there at our second, we might look at him anyway. You can never have too many good talls, we've always said ;)

My penis can only get so erect.
Speak for yourself.

I think there's a whole new level I can go to, the day the Dogs finally land a quality key forward under the age of 25.

That, or winning a ******* preliminary final for once. ******* Hawthorn, ******* Adelaide, ******* St Kilda, ******* Geelong. ****.

Wow, if Roos really does want Brayshaw as listed in that Phantom, anything could happen. Lets hope Mitch Clarke comes to his senses and stays at the dees, making them much less likely to target a forward.

And we need Petracca to go to the saints in this scenario. If the saints land Jacksch does it help us or harm us? On the surface, they get Jaksch and they are more likely to go for the mid with pick 1, but what if landing Jaksch involves a pick swap with GWS? Then it goes GWS-Petracca, Melbourne-Brashaw... and now the saints at 3 are left to ponder the top 2 mids being gone. Do they reach down for a lesser mid, or do the obvious thing and stitch up their forward line for the next 10 years with Mcartin and play Jaksch in defence? Probably the latter...

Question is GWS - they are always weird, bless em - very needs oriented with so many draft picks in previous years. We know they are hot for Petracca, but probably wont get him. Despite Pattons knee, they are flush for forward/ruck types. Do they want a tall defender? Durdin, Lever? Why yes, they probably do.

Hows this scenario? Wright, Jaksch, Cordy, Foster.

For what it's worth, no thanks to McKenzie, even if we miss Wright/McCartin.

Just don't see it. Slow, has an attitude problem, and fades in and out of games. He's been suited to bullying smaller opponents and crashing packs, but only when he gets a good run at it. Don't think he'd be worth investing time and resources into.

Wowee.

Gee, it'd be nice. If we play Jaksch in his preferred position, that's two key forwards for the next 7 or 8 years at least, one of which is adept in the ruck.

That's not counting Roughie, Roberts, Talia, Carlisle and not-quite-KPP-but-still-beast Stringer ;)

I guess I can dream.

I don't think there's any doubt that the top 5 or 6 teams will be pretty open with each other as to who they're targeting this time around. Doesn't seem to be many competing interests amongst bris, gws, melb, st kilda and us. If we want wright, it would take a fair glory be up on our behalf for us not to land him IMO.

Anyone got any idea where Goddard will go in the draft? Could we possibly get him with our second pick (Higgins compo if he goes a late first round pick is my estimate)?
Check the draft thread, few phantoms have him late first.

I hope like hell Higgins could net us a pick at the end of first, instead of after our second round pick

hopefully all the other clubs are so focused on taking KPPs by the time the next pick would be called out, we could take the best available midfielder

maybe we get Lever and Duggan, young leaders

ever notice how a good portion of our drafted players were captains of their side?

If we dont get Jaksch and keep our 2nd pick, I wouldnt mind us going after Keitel.
I think they're essentially the same player :p with one having less development

a lot of people are a bit cold on him but I've always really rated him, can just tell he has hidden talent based on the skills he displays in snippets

Reminder that at 11:30 Calder go up against Dandenong for a spot in the TAC Cup Grand Final.

Who is your guess for leading goal kicker, BOG and margin?

I'm going with

Foster
Cavka
