Would we consider rookie listing a ruck man?

With the likely departures of Cordy and Minson over the next couple of seasons leaving us with only Campbell it might not be a bad idea.
I have watched a lot of the Jets over the last 5 years, I have never seen him pull out of contests and have seen him go back with the flight, also his decision making is first class, not sure where this comes from.
Two of who?
That is why its an opinion game ! That is why there was a 1000 page post on our last coach and why Jones exit still divides opinion.
That is why I asked Dan's opinion as I am open to different views on him.
Thats just how I have seen it in the 3.5 times I saw him play.
Don't get me wrong I like the guy. I want him with our first pick. Just trying to provide a rounded review on his footy.
But not sure why people get so defensive pointing out deficiencies - if you want a glowing report go to the AFL videos where all you see are the good things.
According to you then he has no cons and should be inside the first 20 is that right ?
Cause a guy with no cons other than weight would definitely be top 20.
I missed this - my bad.The xfactor and assets Menadue has lends himself to the dogs list.
Dannnnnnnnnn do you agree with the assessment below ?
Pro
- Can break a game open
- Disposal by foot is good
- Vision is good
- Utility type can play Mid, back and forward – best position = outside mid
- Very good overhead mark
Cons
- Very light – May take a couple of pre seasons before playing regular AFL footy
- Hardness is questionable, has pulled out of contests on a number of occasions
- Decision Making can be erratic – needs to clean this up
just think we'll take two midfielders at our first two picks
and a few KPPs later
Menadue is also a Bulldogs supporter
would be cool to get him

Brisbane did well with their drafting last year by picking up the players that they saw slipped through to their picks.
With multiple mid-range picks, we should be doing the same.
For every player that pushes up the ranks before our range of picks, that's another one who slides back and reaches us.
Plenty of upside in that regard.
Sam Grimley has been delisted with the promise to be re rookied if he is still available any interest on this board ?
I don't; get the fascination with Foster TBH - I doubt we'd be even talking about him if he wasn't previously a FS chance.Well does Beveridge bring him along is the real question. As a rookie I wouldn't be against it but it would be a decision based on Grimley v Foster for the tall forward rookie spot as I think we need a rookie ruckman + Pearce plus it sounds like Greenwood is still being considered which is a massive waste. Wonder if Craig has any Essendon players who feel deserve another go.
It's the fact he's a key forward a farther son and if he is a late bloomer like his old man it will blow this forum up like nothing has done before.I don't; get the fascination with Foster TBH - I doubt we'd be even talking about him if he wasn't previously a FS chance.
Explain Boomer. Plays most of his football under a roof at Etihad, but is still an immense player. I feel like if there's a super talented kid who is short, we may as well role the dice with a late pick if he's still around. Or perhaps a rookie spot. Rookie is probably safest.People tend to forget that Libba won his Brownlow and was a gun when the grounds were less flat tracks than they are now.
He loved the wet and the mud, I doubt he would have survived in the game long term if the game was played on the pristine fast decks of today.
The wind and contested game that was played at The Western Oval was where he loved it.
Just Saying

I see Grimley as an upgrade on Cordy. Are either ever going to be AFL standard players though? I have my doubts. At least Beveridge would have good knowledge of him to make a decision. Could complement Boyd as a second ruck after Cordy leaves.
worth recycling rucks imoI see Grimley as an upgrade on Cordy. Are either ever going to be AFL standard players though? I have my doubts.
A WEEK after Ed Vickers-Willis was sent to the Vic Metro backline to blanket 174cm goalsneak Jack Lonie, he found himself standing giant Sam Durdin.
The change from Lonie to a South Australian 23cm taller and 20kg heavier epitomised Vickers-Willis’ breakout season, which included All-Australian honours as the standout full-back.
Dubbed by some recruiters as the draft’s “Mr Fix It”, Vickers-Willis was used as Sandringham Dragons’ hole-plugger.
“If we needed a job we’d turn to Ed or Brayden Maynard to solve it,” Dragons talent manager Ryan O’Connor said.
“If there was a danger man or someone creating headaches, Ed would go and get the job done under pressure.”
And while some would have liked to see the Melbourne Grammar school captain settle and unlock his attacking flair, Vickers-Willis knows his greatest strength is tailor-made for modern footy.
“I’m a versatile player and with the interchange cap and the sub rule, being able to play multiple positions and having a decent tank will be highly valued in the future,” he said.
It makes him an ideal target for the Western Bulldogs, with list manager Jason McCartney telling theHerald Sun this year that size and flexibility would be their point of difference as they develop against the talent-laden expansion sides.
But while Vickers-Willis would slot nicely into a Dogs’ backline under transformation, clubs aren’t certain he will last to their first pick (26), with some recruiters anointing him a future AFL captain.
“He’s one you look at and think he can play 200 games. Reliability and elite character are major positives and he’s a dependable shut-down man,” one noted.
The ultimate utility could sneak into the first round and has the capability to develop into a tall inside midfielder.
The Demons are known fans but don’t expect Vickers-Willis to be available at pick 40, while Carlton, Essendon and Fremantle are expected to consider the no-fuss talent.
“I like the challenge of playing above my height,” Vickers-Willis said.
“Shifting from talls to smalls is about being proactive in your positioning. Having athleticism and reading the footy in the air is important and while people wouldn’t expect me to beat some of those players, I enjoy the challenge and just back myself.”
Vickers-Willis was best-afield in a school match against Scotch this year but coach Michael Ford said he earmarked the 190cm academic star when he was in Year 10.
“It was 2012 and we were playing Caulfield Grammar. Ed played as a high half-forward picking up their attacking midfielder and he smashed it, just smashed it,” Ford said.
“He’s an outstanding citizen and outstanding on-field. He can play forward, in defence, inside, outside and on talls and smalls.”
Ford said Vickers-Willis was the complete package, while his ambitions to study commerce-law have prompted some clubs to ask if there’s a chance he could prematurely retire to enter the corporate world.
Vickers-Willis has assured them otherwise.
“If I’m lucky footy might last until I’m 31 or 32, whereas you can do that the rest of your life. Study is actually a release and helps my footy, too,” he said.
