Yeah numbers 6 and 9 look similar and the commentators kept mixing them up but 6, who I think was Duggan, moved well. He's pretty smart.
I was right, you were looking at Ahern

Duggan is 9, he maybe got like 8 touches; if that
have seen him get a lot more of it though, but he covers the ground really well

not sure out of the players from this draft that could be a match winner, guess we'll see as the year progresses ;)

discussions so far have centred around KPFs and fleet footed wingman. fair enough too.

what do people think of Jake Lever? from write-ups and tid-bits from other pages, he seems like a hard, tall, HBFer that can be a third man up as well as a run and carry rebounder. KM has mentioned that he's an upstanding kid, which fits our mould. anyone have any more idea about this kid and what he brings?

with our win over melbourne, and draws and form suggesting we're more likely to end with pick 6 - 8 than 4 - 6, where does lever sit against players who are also slated around that range (duggan et. al.).

I know he is coming off a very serious knee injury, should be back for the combine so we'll see how he fairs at that first
he seems like he'd work hard to get the best out of himself, puts his body on the line, reads the play exceptionally; rebounds the ball out of defense
uses it pretty well....its a real shame he couldn't be out playing the U18 Champs actually, was great last year and wanted to see what he could add to his game

Lever could go anywhere from 4-15 probably, so a pretty wide range
think there is no way he gets to our second round pick and I'm not so sure we'd take him as Zaine plays a similar role (except hasn't been able to show any rebound) also both very slight builds
if he did get to our second pick (Lever) he'd probably be the steal of the draft...could get used to that

so you think he's a reach at 7? or is it just that with the likely pick of cordy later on, plus Lever not playing this year - we can go for a similarly talented, but 'different' player at 7?

ACLs are never good, but we've selected bigger injury risks with first picks before (same first name too!)

I think it depends how versatile we believe he could become, if he could transition to the midfield he might be one that interests us

I still believe Petracca or Brayshaw at our pick is a good possibility, just on the BF forums they're a bit of flavour of the month
because a lot of people would have seen the game on Foxtel ;)

and on the other end of the scale Tom Lamb 0% DE
I thought I must have read it wrong, but 9 disposals
not one that hit a target? o_O

and I knew Payne was a Jet; just talking about potential early picks
because I don't think he'd be going first two rounds

Ah I see. look like Daniel completely dominated that game.... if only he was taller. Anyway a few other guys where kicking in the 90's but a lot also kicking below 50 o_O and how does one not hit a target when they get it nine time?? and you thought Duggan had a bad game

De Goey? the phantom drafters are rating him mid first round; I think we might end up with as high as pick 7 or 8
he has had a few unlucky injuries which I think made this his first year playing for the state side but he has shown he can be class
snapped a goal as well I think at some stage, which wasn't too different to the one Stringer did against Melbourne
I think if he can remain consistent through out the champs; then head back to Oakleigh which I believe are top of the ladder
and dominate the end of the year the way Macrae and Bontempelli did; then he might be a possibility

but like I said, he is a player that is good at everything but not a stand out at any one thing

I thought Clayton was the one who picked Howard?

is that the skinny kid I liked? I think he looked top 20 but was he F/S? Got something like that in the back of my mind, like there was a caveat on him

I said quiet game, others said bad

and I don't remember seeing Lamb all that much to be honest, so figures he done nothing with the ball

I hope Payne got to us in a later round ;) I just want one Jets player
Vickers-Willis is another who interests me, want to see him kick it more
too many handballs

yeah Payne is quite skinny, but I think he has a frame that could put on a significant amount of muscle

perhaps he even projects better as a defender... reads the play well

anywho, Keitel also had a solid hit out consider Metro dominated most of the game

God I hope so, there is so much to like no LOVE about this kid....

he re-tweets everything about us on Twitter, I'm actually wondering who he supports...
another player that I want to see kick it more and see how his D.E% goes, because he has everything we'd want

actually looking, he re-tweets TOO much

but loves Bontempelli and FIFA :p

The world loves Bontempelli..... I swear I saw a banner at the World Cup in Brazil saying "Bontempelli Gooooooooooooooal"

Saw one of his tweets saying "Come on pies! Make my saturday night please!".

Don't think we should draft him anymore. Even though we do have Hrovat.

Seriosuly though, also saw a tweet from early in the year saying that he reached 14.2 on the beep test. That's pretty good. Don't think his gas tank will be a big issue.

Can someone explain to me why the Payne is not rated
Western Jets :p na
I think its because he is a year older then the other players and doesn't have school to focus on
the recruiters think if you can juggle your Year 12 and football that makes you better equipped to handle the AFL

something like that

Nonsense his birth day is 3/9/1996 - he is not 18 yet
As for his schooling, who cares
Watched the metro game - he is a stand out
Someone posted some western jets highlights which supposedly featured Duggan, but all I saw was Payne killing it. All very strange

the recruiters do, thats what I'm saying
if they had identical players; one with good grades, one with average grades; they'd pick the one with the good grades because they'd believe he is willing to work harder

and I heard he was an over-ager, strange o_O

anyhow

here is what Chris had to say about Payne

'

Menadue - second/third round
Payne - rookie
Langdon - third round
Switkowski - rookie/undrafted

Menadue is climbing, and has a lot of traits that clubs are looking for at the moment. He's probably the only one I'd be super keen on. Payne is a developing tall, and history says not many get picked between the second round and rookie draft. But he has shown enough to get taken, whereas Switkowski perhaps doesn't have that defining feature to his game that makes a club pick a sub 180cm player. Langdon has been playing good football, but personally I would take other similar players ahead of him. '

Well that is just insane
Doug Hawkins would never get recruited if that is the thinking.
Ditto Dane Swan, Wayne Carey, Gary Ablett Senior

I am sure Christain Howard aced his VCE score
