Saw some McKenzie highlights on TAC Future Stars. This is the first time I've seen him being mobile and he looks slow. I've dropped off slightly. Go to 40:05. The goal where he gets it clear and runs into an open goal showed me he has no pace at all, or Usain Bolt was chasing him, either way, I'm a bit dubious now.

how about how Kevin Sheehan says 'he looks 'draftable', sounds like there are definitely question marks
first I've really seen of him running and I have heard he is slow and has the turn circle of a truck

Being able to mark it is great, but you have to be able to get to the contest. I think I'll let Carlton have him. He's certainly well built though, but so is an elephant.

I know what you are seeing, good pick up. But it's such small sample and it can be misleading. I'd like to see him play a full game, see how he leads and see if he get space on his opponent. It could be that he he just reads it better and is strong in the contest.

Interesting one, from the little I have seen I really like him, but in order to draft early you would need a lot more vision, otherwise he could be a great pick up later in the draft. Pace is the query for sure.

I don't even think we should take McKenzie if he's at our second pick. I'd much rather go for either these two option atm.

First Pick: Lever/Durdin
Second Pick: Ellis*
Higgins Pick: Blakely*

First Pick: Lavarde
Second Pick: Marchbank
Higgins Pick: *******

The second one is a lot riskier, as there is probably a lot smaller chance that Marchbank is available.

*or a whichever highly rated player (eg Duggan, De Goey) slides to our pick, like Hrovat did.

Absolutely. Without a doubt. This is why the recruiters get paid hundreds of thousands and we do it in cyberspace ;)

If Duggan/Blakely/Ellis/De Goey fell to our second pick
would probably mean all the KPP got taken in the first round/prior to our second round pick anyhow

some teams will still draft players they've followed closely all year that haven't been talked up as much on here
(I mean not many expected Geelong to draft Lang or Thurlow with their first pick until the final couple of days maybe)

would be very happy with another quality midfielder and another quality defender

1st: Durdin
2nd: Ellis
Higgins compo: Viojo-Rainbow
3rd or 4th: Goal kicker & Z Cordy
5th: Upgrade Jong

Out: Gia, Higgins, Williams, Howard, Goodes, Fuller

That is what I'd do. Get Foster and Fox as Rookies along with a goal kicking big bodied mid and an outside mid. Load up for a KPF next draft or come out lucky cuz of Fox or Foster become that. As for this Redpath upgrade talk I have got to say one thing... he hasn't done enough for me, Jong has though in his first injury free period in a while but it wouldn't surprise me if we delisted everyone on the rookie list.

Wright is very slow as well if Mckenzie is but you have to give them leniency they are both over 6 5

I love Connor Blakley. Don't know how people rate Brayshaw above him.

have you seen Brayshaw live?

not saying Blakely is better/worse over Brayshaw

but Brayshaw will probably be playing AFL for a couple of years before Blakely, is massive for a midfielder
so there is that

I seriously doubt that McKenzie is much slower than Boyd, Patton, Hawkins, Cloke etc. He is a power forward. Kicks nicely and has good hands. Can't believe anyone is jumping off him because of that one video - he was running into an open goal.

I doubt it is just that

Knightmare also bumped him down a few picks in his PD

had us taking him at our first (which I hope we'd never do)
