put in Petracca to tease Essendon what they may of missed out on
:p
God he's stupid. It's ok to rate players differently, but how can he have Heeney at three (?) one week then out of the top ten the next.

#TheListManager at his best.

Still think I'd be happy if he is right, get a crack at Wright or Goddard
he does tend to over-rate the Vic boys though and he may not be close with his order because that is how he personally rates them
I'd rather follow what Brett Anderson says personally, he generally has a good idea about what clubs are interested in which players

Wonder where he rates Jake Lever...

I love the idea of trading for a pick in the 10-15 range to get a crack at Lever. Easier said than done though.

Who would we trade? Wouldn't GC have two picks within the first round? One at their pick, one at Geelongs?

Do you think our pick for two picks beyond the top 10 would be worth our first pick? or would that be overs?

I think Gold Coast still need to reduce their list, so they might take it.

With my current draft order it probably means trading Goddard/Brayshaw/Durdin (pick 5) for two of Duggan/Pickett/Lever/Lamb. Which I think would be a win for us.

fronk was talking about this in the list management draft, it might not get a lot supporters excited
but would be good for getting additional talent on the list and Duggan is a strange one; really think he could go anywhere!

GC would probably love to add another talented KPP on that list, even a chance Wright gets there and they become really scary

I can't decide which I'd like more from the draft, a KPF or two classy first rounders; because as everyone says, have to be patient with them until they produce..could grab a McCartin or Wright at 5 and not see their best football until 5 years away!

I imagine GC have their eyes fixed on Lachie Weller, so it all would depend on if he looks like sliding to their picks. Hopefully he kills it and comes into top five calculations.

GC need quality, not quantity at this point. Think they'd be very very interested in packaging their 2 picks to move into the top 5.
Yeah that makes sense. What picks will they have? Their first rounder and then the pick after it? If that's the case it will probably end up around two mid first rounders. I'd probably be keen on that depending on where we both end up of course.

Might even be able to convince them to give us a decent fringe player they don't really need. Or we could find a way to include Schade in the deal.

12-14 and our recruiters would better know GCs fringe players, I'm sure there is some-one there that would peak our interest

maybe we can convince them to take Christian Howard as well :p

Dav1d just looked at the Mad Monday Show Award thing from the TAC cup Grace got three points in a team that lost by nearly one hundred. So I'd say that them guys don't think that his 40 disposals where cheap ;) Just didn't have any help.

I did see that, still reserving judgement until I see him play some games though, got to remember he is a whole year or two older and a lot of top end players are playing for the State sides

QUALITY key defenders are hard to source through the draft system, but this year's crop has produced several options.

On this week's Road to the Draft podcast, draft reporter Callum Twomey and host Nat Edwards discuss the leading tall defenders of the 2014 batch.

They are joined on the show by one of those players in injured Vic Metro backman Jake Lever.

Lever underwent a knee reconstruction at the end of last year and will miss all of his draft year, but updates AFL.com.au on his progress and some of the dark times he is enduring while on the sidelines.

Road to the Draft also reviews last weekend's action from the NAB AFL Under-18 Championships and looks forward to round three, while retrospectively ranks the top five players from the 2011 draft intake.

Hey Dav1d, if you can pull that last bit off, you will have my full support for your taking over as our list manager.

personally, I'd rather Quigley ;) have a real strong interest in the draft, not a clue who would be at picks in the mid/late teens
everyone seems to rate certain players differently after that

Yeah she is one of the few who gives the impression that she not only does her homework thoroughly, but also knows her onions. Her's is an opinion I actually respect. There are a hell of a lot of highly paid commentators who I would not give time of day for their opinions.

I work with Peter Wright's Dad Norm. He would be happy with the Dogs, prefers a melbourne club. Good kid, good family, knows his strenghts and knows what he needs to work on. Gee if we get him at least we would have a long straight kick. Beautiful action and natural.

Two picks around 12-14 sounds perfect. I had a brief look at their list (**** it's good), one guy who sounds interesting is Jackson Allen.

"A running defender who is one of the best kicks at the club. Allen is slightly built but has worked hard during his two seasons at the GC SUNS to add size to his frame.

Injuries have slowed him down, but with four games to his name, he should start pushing for senior selection more often in 2014"

Without knowing a single thing about him he sounds interesting. No doubt it would be extremely hard to push into the Suns squad as a small defender so he might be pretty gettable (again I know nothing about him so could be a spud).

Also if it's true he's one of the better kicks at the club (especially GC, they have fantastic kicking skills) that alone is enough to interest me :p

I like Schade the most though (although apparently GC rate him so might be a bit harder to get) he'd really complete our backline I feel.

So some sort of deal involving our first rounder for e.g picks 12 + 13 and Schade. On trade 13 for Sam Reid.

Take either a classy small like Duggan at 12 or hopefully we could get one of the top prospects who slips out of the top 10, maybe even one of the good talls, who knows a lot could change before then. Either way we can get someone very good with a top 15 pick.

At our 2nd rounder probably just go best available, but it sort of depends how we went at 12. If we got a tall grab a small here, or vice versa. Tong with Cordy and Foster.

= Sam Reid, Schade, Duggan, Watchman (lots of different combinations for those last two picks), Cordy, Foster

Sounds pretty good to me

lets say we end up with pick 7 or higher, based on percentage

does anyone think we could still downgrade our pick?

I'm not holding my breath, but a lot can happen between now & the last couple of games of the year..

I have this feeling we are gonna be trading up this year
