I could even see GC going for Pickett if they got that pick to be honest
love their WA players

if they were at our picks, I would be pleased with those two choices
means we could go for another good ball user rather then take what KPF fell to us
and hopefully grab another KPP come later in the draft

Duggan, Keitel, Blakely, Cordy, Neilson would be a good draft for quality and depth

then Fox, Foster and Darcy Cameron in the rookie draft or one (that is not Foster) in the PSD
all that sounds pretty good , we are hoping for our favs but who do you think the club will pick up with it's first pick , not who you want :)

if we don't trade our pick? Probably Goddard

and those weren't my favourites ;) you know who my favourite is, you brought him up

Haha yeah I do , will Goddard play back or foward at afl level ?

No idea, we seem to like to turn forwards into backs and like Knightmare and Chris said in their phantom drafts
he isn't the go-to guy when up forward, he'd be the second option; which I think is what Jones should be

Also I think Jones plays better closer to goal; but that is just me
saw it in the Collingwood game and the Geelong game where he kicked a bag

I had high hopes for jones , not sure where his at right now .... Goddard seems a bit soft

I agree, what are your thoughts on Durdin and Lever?
Lever is injured for the rest of the year and would be a gamble given the injury however if it payed off we could have a very, very good player. We also have Z Cordy who is a similar type later in the draft though....

Durdin is not a forward he is a genuine tall defender who should go in the top 5 and is a much better plyer than say Goddard. If he is at our Pick I would not hesitate to call out his name would work very well with Roughy and Co. Would complete our tall defense apart from the Murphy replacement which hopefully we can pull out of a hat somewhere.

Yeah you make a good point RE Durdin, honestly he hasn't got me that excited looking at his highlights, apart from his ability to take intercept marks (very useful) although admittedly I haven't seen a whole lot of him. Do you have a link to any good footage of Duggan? I've seen nothing of him, but if he's being mentioned alongside Pickett he must have some tricks up his sleeve.

what baffles me is that Rance usually plays quite well on Franklin yet struggles when he has Jones

Goddard I wouldn't call you soft, unless you have another meaning for it
because he does attack the ball hard and is a hard worker, which is why I think we'd like him along with been tall

but as a forward, he just isn't dangerous enough for a player that high and in defense he is more a nullifying defender
has the athleticism to attack as well as defend, but doesn't utilize both as dangerously as he could

going back to my favourites, they're Pickett: Viojo-Rainbow: Laverde: Drummond

there is some footage of him somewhere that I've already posted on this thread actually, from youtube and I say that it has Duggan footage

Western Jets highlights, also shows off Viojo-Rainbow to

I know that Duggan once in a final, kicked 3 final quarter goals to win the Jets a game though

Geelong Falcons 12.7 (79) defeated Murray Bushrangers 6.11 (47)

Goals:

Geelong: S. Dixon 3, P. Bright 2, L. Wagener 2, B. Warren 2, D. Bond , M. Augerinos , B. Beardsell

Murray: N. Drummond 2, J. Schache 2, M. Waite , M. Reidy

Best:

Geelong: W. Sexton, B. Remmos, H. Kol, M. Augerinos, H. Smith, J. Syddall

Murray: N. Mellington, D. Mennen, N. Drummond, M. Waite, T. Holman, J. Marshall

Ten minutes was all it took for the Geelong Falcons to break away from the Murray Bushrangers in an entertaining and tight clash at Highgate. The first half was an arm wrestle, as both teams struggled to convert their opportunities and the Falcons went into half time with a narrow one point lead.

However the third term belonged to the Falcons as they kicked five goals in a burst of activity that blew the decimated Murray side away. The Bushrangers were without half a dozen of their best players who were on state duty with NSW/ACT while Dan Howe and Nathan Drummond didn’t last the whole game after picking up injuries. In the end it was the blistering third term from the Falcons which won them the game as the last quarter was as tight as the first two.

Rookie chance probably now

poor Drummond can't catch a break, though they didnt mention anything on TAC future stars

Would absolutely love Duggan, but getting him and Patton/another good key forward isn't really possible :(
not this year ;) on Patton anyway
I think we'll be able to snag a KPF next year, a good one to

the only KPF that is coming out of contract that I don't think we would be getting is Tom Hawkins

if we could downgrade our picks so we got multiple picks, that would be brilliant to
grab some class and top up with whatever free ages/out of contract players we need

club recruiters usually have an idea which players will go early, so if we did downgrade our picks it would only be because
our recruiters would think there is a very good chance the players we want will be at our picks ;)

make it happen Dogs recruiters
:D

Rance is very hot and cold

Rance is very hot and cold
but he has been cold against Jones a few times now and anyhow, that is for the list management thread

on the draft, I suggest you watch it on the weekend if possible? see who you like, I enjoy watching it live to see what players do when not part of a play and how hard they work and etc

Yeah I'm taping it and having a few mates around Sunday to have a look , pretty excited

Agreed , but what 6 years in and he isn't hungry enough for it ?
Nothing to do with hunger.

As a 19yo he was playing a bit part along side Barry Hall and did well flying under the radar. Since then he has held the number 1 forward role in a forward line bereft of tall options and has competed against hardened, number 1 defenders since then. And it's not as though he's a man mountain. I think the job he has done as a skinny kid against big defenders has been admirable, but clearly I am in the minority. Having said that though, the vitriol that he has been subjected to has been completely out of order. He's a kid who is progressing, but is someone who can't be judged until he is 25, so 2 more years. Just think of the treatment that Tomahawk received- they were going to trade him in 2009 FFS. He's a very good 2nd forward option and will be a good, productive forward, but he must be judged later.
