I ment more the top 3 was McCartin/Durdin/Wright while the order of who goes 1. 2. 3. is still unkown. Wish i got to see the game today, who impressed/who didn't? :p

I tell you Caleb Daniel for SA, HE IS A MIDGET but he has had a great game

Darcey Moore is very good unfortunately

I thought Zaine did it perfectly today, did some very nice things in the 2nd half and I liked what I saw but also didn't do a lot that would raise his draft stock too high

Petracca was a standout & looks a real player. I would suggest he will play round 1 next year with whoever gets him.

Durdin is a class act & I would love us to get him, however unless we finish 16th or 17th, that is unlikely.

Caleb Daniel had a great game for SA & although he is tiny, he has all the tools to succeed. However due to his lack of height, he will probably go as a late 2nd or 3rd round pick.

McCartin & Wright didn't impress but I am prepared to forgive as the conditions didn't suit them. Having said that, Moore was outstanding for Vic Metro as a forward in the same conditions.

I have a feeling that Goddard may be a slider, will still go first round but may slip out of the top 10.

I love what I've seen from Petrecca, think he will be an absolute jet and he'd fit into our group of big bodied mids perfectly. We probably have bigger needs to fill at the moment though, if we downgraded for 2 first rounders and he was available I would be rapt to get him and also someone who fits our needs a bit better but sounds like Petrecca is firmly in the top 10 (or maybe even 5) now.

if Petracca shows me some class with his disposal in these games he'll be hard to turn down. Just looking a complete player. Might go above our pick to be honest.

Also i'm thinking our coaches would be loving what they see of Pickett. They'll be doing big research on him like they did with Jack Martin to see if he's a good sort and they may very well pull the trigger. Is just what we need
JMac? :p:eek:

I heard JMac who was sitting directly behind me speak about two players the whole game
one I am praying we look away....far away, but the good thing was some of the players weren't Victorian...
also just got back

your boys struggled

Keen to share ? Liked Laverde
PM :D Laverde is a maniac, he gets away with kicks he shouldn't be able to

actually speaking of 'my boys' struggling, Payne was alright though :)

unfair those that say McCartin didn't do enough, he covered more ground then I expected and SA were always getting first touch in the middle

Goddard even had a decent 3rd quarter, where he took a contested mark; kicked it out on the full, got kicked back to where he was...took another contested mark kicked to a contest, went to the line and gathered by SA kicked towards the same area again and he got it yet again....think he got it like 3-4 times in 2-3 minutes

Don't like Goddard he will slide , wouldn't pick up Cordy unless it's a 3rd rounder not worth out 2nd , Durdin reminds me of Tom Williams

Now that I have seen exactly two games, I'm an instant expert.

I thought Goddard was a lot better than Wright, Moore or McCartin. Moore kicked 4, but 3 of them were the softest of soft (1 x lucky free and 2 x Joe the Goose). Durdin is better than all of them.

Duggan is nowhere near top 10. He'll be the third of the Jets to get drafted. Ellis and Laverde at least a long way ahead of him.

SA have a million gun mids but they are all 4 feet tall.

Cordy is the closest thing I've ever seen to a Dale Morris clone.

Very defensive, good at holding his ground to take a defensive mark.

Kicks safe every time (one instance where there was no safe option to take he didn't know what to do!)

Even using a 3rd round pick would be pushing it. No chance we use a 2nd rounder.

did you see it live? McCartin and Moore worked very hard when they didn't have the ball, running their opponents around
creating leads, unfortunately for Country their midfield got dominated and it kept getting banged inside the SA forward 50

Duggan did have a shocker, Viojo-Rainbow did to; but they werent the only players to have quiet ones

think Ahern played very well, kicked a beaut goal from just on the 50 line I believe and it curled in, straight through the middle

Yeah, I went down there. My cahunas are still frozen.

I thought McCartin was dreadful (tough day at the office for a VC forward, granted) and Moore only a little bit better. Payne from VM was better than both (except he kicks like James Manson).

Ahern was very good, so was Petracca (sp?) and Brayshaw. I liked Blakely from WA and DeGoey from VM, too.

I call DeGoey, the Goo

I didn't see WA do a great deal, not after the first quarter anyway

I noticed DeGoey though, I saw him kick some lovely weighted kicks to the advantage of the Metro forwards and the Moore kick lying on his back, over his head was a classic

Payne was very good, in fact I'd agree with you that Payne was a bit more involved in general play then the other two

McCartin seems to know when to go up for a mark or stay down and he crumbs quite well for a big man

Petracca and Brayshaw were real good, I'd like to see Petracca use his explosiveness a bit more (like a Dane Swan)

Ahern had 3 goals and 8 score involvements! Laverde was probably the best of the Metro back men, Keitel very quiet
had to work his way up the ground to find the ball but this was because Metro dominated much of the game

but SA dominated ALL of their game

Did Keitel and Pickett play?
Pickett had one brilliant run along the wing followed up by a lovely weighted kicked over a defender to his forward
then was quiet, Keitel couldn't get near it after the first quarter where it was quite close
kicked a nice goal

uses the ball well when he gets it but it just wasn't going down WAs end often enough
Metro should have won by more but Wright had a quiet one to

the AFL site says Wright had a good game, but I'd disagree
he got shifted into attack after half time and I saw him maybe get it once
though he did lead a couple of times but it wasn't kicked to him

I know, but I at least got to side next to JMac and heard a few things he said.....very interesting stuff....

You still haven't shared what he said :p I'm not waiting for the post season to get the gossip, lets kick start it now ;)
Pretty curious so see what players he was most focused on, at least then we can assume they MAY be on our short list/hit list

If Frawley leaves Melbourne and they finish below us with say picks 4 and compo pick 5 for Frawley the bastards will probably snare both Petracca and Brayshaw. I know not many are keen for Brayshaw on here but Petracca is now who I'm realistically hoping for (unless Durdin was to slip). Although I'd still prefer to trade our pick for GC's 2 later picks and pick up 2 of Keitel/Marchbank/Lever/Duggan/Pickett/Goddard/Lamb/De Goey/Ellis/Weller.

Just on Petracca, what does he offer to our midfield? The only think we lack is leg speed, and enough elite ball use/more class and polish. Does he offer both of those? Or will we just be adding another big midfielder to our stocks?
