Basically the question I am asking is, would you rather someone that plays like Travis Cloke, or Nick Reiwoldt?

I'd prefer a big gorilla forward personally who is locked down in FF and takes the number 1 defender from Jones, allowing Jones to roam around CHF on the 2nd best defender each week, which is why I'd prefer a McCartin/Patton type over a Goddard. I personally just feel it would fit our structure better. Also I'm starting to think the gap between McCartin/Wright/Durdin and even Moore to Goddard is starting to widen.

Probably a Cloke for me. We have guys that can mark on the lead. Its those high contested balls around the goal square we struggle a lot at. If we had someone who could take a solid contested mark one on one, or in a pack, it will add something more to our forward line

Ok i have a question for you draft watchers, the top 3 or 4 talls this year are coming across as a level below the guys in the same positions as previous few drafts
A hard question objectively but anyone want to have a go at rating these guys in order?
2012 Daniher, Jaksch, James Stewart, Mason Shaw
2013 Boyd, Hogan, McCarthy
2014 Wright, Goddard, Durdin, McCartin

Just my 2c (which is why we won't get Boyd/Patton for #5 + steak knives) -
Would probably slot Moore in 7th or 8th

3. Patton
4. Daniher
5. McCartin
6. Wright
7. Durdin
8. Goddard
9. Jaksch
10. Shaw
11. Stewart

I agree, this gap also means it's less likely we'll get one of those top three

On the AFL ladder predictor i have us getting pick #6 however that is assuming we beat Melbourne tomorrow, which with no Griff, Roughy, Grant, Cooney and Gia i think its a 50/50 game if we lose its pick #4. While most of the experts reckon the big 3 are locked i wouldn't be surprised to see Petracca go top 3 and Durdin or Wright slip, would be pretty happy with any of the big 3 or Petracca tbh.

Still really like Duggan, but I don't know if we'd take him just yet; would love some skilled midfielders/half backs

probably just as much as a KPP, the only KPP I'd want is Wright or McCartin
but hearing what I heard yesterday, we have eyes on players outside of Victoria

Pickett has had a quiet Champs apart from one game maybe, but he hasn't had enough help
Clem Smith was a real ugly kick, his kicks were off target and kept dropping short even in the pre-game; during the kicking drills

I do hope we nominate Hammelmann, a bit skinny but has a frame where he looks like he could put on a lot of muscle if he needed to

Fox kicked a single goal in a pretty low scoring game, want to see some live footage of him to
highlights packages can make most players look like stars

wonder if Ahern goes in the second round, not so sure if we'd take him because I am pretty confident we want more talls and are happy with the smalls we have

I'm not sure, but I'd say he was a bit ahead of Goddard

pretty sure Durdin was wearing the wrong number all day, so that was annoying

There are a few more but they are pretty tiny.

Interesting to see where Hislop and Tim Jones (from tassie) go in the draft. Jones has started like a house on fire. They have an overager playing well too of halfback.

ditto, it is going to get to the stage where we know what will be on the table and we'll be eager to see what we can get in the second round

I'm hoping for a player like Laverde, seems to fit the type that we like as well as covers some needs

For me as key forwards, I'd go: Boyd, Hogan, Daniher, McCartin, Wright, Durdin, Goddard, Jaksch, McCarthy, Shaw, Stewart

Keitel was starved of chances up forward but did take one nice mark. He was a bit better when he was switched back.

Yep thats how I feel. The rest of the ground is absolutely fine, just give me a bloody KPF!
