For anyone who watches the recruit on Fox8 - does anyone know if we will be involved in some sort of 'mini draft' they are having at the end?

Fair enoughI believe teams have tried and trade for Rohan and swans said he was untouchable.

our team does need a token red-head in the team after CooneyFair enough
I'm in favour of Rohan
After watching last night he's not a gun, but he's an important cog in the Sydney wheel, a bit like Hill at the Hawksour team does need a token red-head in the team after Cooney
and Young doesn't look like he'll be much more then depth soI'm in favour of Rohan

I thought you picked alrightThankfully, our recruiting staff have more of a clue than I do.

Haha - I really hated the back of the draft last year so the Conlon pick was just a risk I had to take. Filled a need, had an incredibly high ceiling and had better exposed talent than anybody that was still around there. As I said in the actual thread though - it's a risk I probably wouldn't take if my job was on the line. Typing it up in a phantom draft it was a worthwhile risk for mine.I thought you picked alright
still took a bit of a risk on Fuller where you took Conlon
and took another small where you took Spina who is also a small right?

I would have picked Conlon toHaha - I really hated the back of the draft last year so the Conlon pick was just a risk I had to take. We'll call Fuller-Conlon a nil-all draw for now.
At our pick in the 60s I was just looking for a role player. Spina can fill that and that was my reasoning. He's on the smaller side but not tiny (over 180 I think). Great skills, great speed, great athleticism, just not a high scope player.
It's no secret that I wasn't on the Bontempelli bandwagon and I already have egg on my face with that one. With Bont the flashes were always there but I was never sold on his ability to put it together and I didn't see it as being a feasible risk that early in the draft. Our recruiting staff thankfully did and showed why they're the experts. Aish was always going to be a good player from my perspective (I never bought into the Chinese whispers that led to him being criticised for being an outside-only seagull) but doesn't have the same scope as Bont - and that's largely due to Marcus' versatility.I would have picked Conlon to
probably not Spina though
but I didn't really watch him closely, the only real difference I'd have was Bontempelli at our first pick
I wanted us to draft him all year, so was real glad
Aish still looks very good though, Bontempelli looks as if he could be a freak
got very far on your Key Forward list? I can think of a few from the draft not talked about much; not really mature age talent or players we could trade for
Mate you sure your not Toby McLean ?It'll be interesting to see the people who bolt into contention in the actual bf phantom later on.
Lower down in the draft Toby McLean is one I can think of right now, bit of a bizarre player type but seems to be flying now. Could see him being third or fourth round atm but could really make a statement in the finals.
Laverde is looking likely to bolt up the order higher in the draft not sure of anyone else who will any thoughts Dannnnnnnnn?
McLean is a bizarre player, as you said. For those playing at home he's basically a 179cm skinny kid that plays as a high-leaping key forward. At AFL level I don't know what his role is. He'd be the type of player I'd consider as a rookie but probably not in the main draft. He has a lot of ability but roles are everything at AFL level and I don't know that he has one. It'll be interesting to see the people who bolt into contention in the actual bf phantom later on.

a few KPFs in the next draft, bit annoying we'd have to nominate for some of themKey forward list has taken a bit of a back seat at the minute but I'm hoping to get something up sometime in the next few weeks.
think we'd be right on him as a big bodied versatile type with a long kickMcLean is a bizarre player, as you said. Laverde, Ahern, Petracca and De Goey are the big bolters that I can think of off the top of my head. Langford is one I've expected to bolt for a while but he's not doing it yet.
maybe a rookie spot if he gets through the year uninjured and I hope that is the case, deserves his chanceIs Conlon a chance of getting drafted this year ?
. Liked Bonti last year, Alex Pearce (was hoping he'd be at the Fuller pick last year
) and liked Macrae in his year too though I was hoping for Orourke and Macrae cause I thought Stringer was a bit of a risk...

You need to have a sit down with the recruiters and get in there earsI just like unusual players. Liked Bonti last year, Alex Pearce (was hoping he'd be at the Fuller pick last year

should be all over Creeper then from WAI just like unusual players. Liked Bonti last year, Alex Pearce (was hoping he'd be at the Fuller pick last year

would be a late pickI read the TAC Magazine today, apparently Laverde has to play a certain amount of games for his school side as wellRumors that McKenzie kick 16 for Marcillen the other day. Can anyone find anything confirming this or not
I read the TAC Magazine today, apparently Laverde has to play a certain amount of games for his school side as well
and Duggan is the captain of his school side, interesting he comes all the way from Ballarat to play for the Jets
and Goddard lives in the Eastern Suburbs and travels to Geelong to train
