He was named BOG but I don't think he'll drop through to us so I left him out.

Odd that Wright wasn't named in the best, think he took about 8+ marks and was very deadly moving up forward.

I think the chance of it happening is growing stronger every day. Saints want McCartin or Petracca, Giants want Petracca and are unlikely to go tall (unless for a defender) anyway. I'm becoming increasingly confident that Brisbane don't go tall, with McStay, Freeman, Close etc all showing very nice signs, and Hammelmann and Uebergang coming through the academy. Melbourne might go tall but with the likes of Gawn and Fitzpatrick around Wright probably isn't a good fit for them. Carlton is the major competition. Regardless, though, the chances of Wright dropping appear much more likely now than they did not long ago.

Langford named Best on for the Knights. How was his disposal? Think he could be a chance second round especially if we lose Higgins.

One of my mates said he spoke to a Brisbane recruiter. Was told that Brisbane aren't huge fans of Wright because they think he's soft. I'm thinking that he's a strong chance to slide to us too.

Sounds good. Not too top heavy and we still get the classy players that we need on the outside and across half forward. That pace, vision and flair (McLean) and skills (Ellis) is what we really lack especially on the outside where those two will most likely end up. Also think that McLean could be a real steal at the third round he has all the makings to be a star small/medium. Same with Ellis if he gets more consistent he'll be a very good player, could go earlier though. Kietel looks to be a good defender but I'm not sure if we'll pick a Western Australian though I hope we have the guts to.

Not doubting you at all but it's pretty damn tricky to get even the slightest bit of information out of a recruiter. A scout, maybe, but even then they're pretty tight-lipped. Would be pretty surprised if one let slip something as significant as a top prospect being "soft" this far out from the draft. But that said, definitely hope it's true. I love Wright. Would be ecstatic if he slipped to our pick. Nobody in the draft has as much upside as he does in my opinion.

Sorry, I meant scout not recruiter. Or at least I'm pretty sure it was just a scout. Big fans of Petracca too apparently, though not surprising since everyone loves him.

Mobile 202cm players who can ruck and go forward and take contested marks and have good goal sense don't come around very often.

Been saying for a while that I didn't think McCartin/Wright are as locked into picks 1/2 as people thought.

I could definitely see Wright slipping past Saints/Lions/GWS/Melb but can't see why Carlton would pass on him. So once again we will just miss out on the tall forward we need, footy gods a campaigner.

Would be the absolute perfect partner for Campbell. Please make it happen

I wouldn't eithrr but I think if we really want to get Wright we have to trade up with Melbourne. Hrovat is a bargaining chip for Jaksch coming to us (he is mates with him not to trade for him with) and I would love Wright and Jaksch in the RW&B even if the cost was Talia. Think we'd still need more depth at bpth ends but say Higgins leaves,we do said deal for Wright and Jaksch says he wants to come to the dogs and we offer our second (which is what he is worth) we could have this:

1: Wright
2: Traded to GWS for Jaksch
Higgins compo: Viojo-Rainbow/Ellis
3: McLean
4: Z Cordy

FB: Rough
CHB: Roberts
C: Bonti
CHF: Jaksch
FF: Wright

Forward line:
McLean-Jaksch-Dahl
Stringer-Wright-Crameri

That is at least a six goal better Forward line than what we currently have. And is hard as f**k to match up on.

As much as I love Wright it's a massive, resounding no from me. We aren't in a position where we can afford be doing two-for-one deals - especially with very talented players.
