Wright with 6 contested marks wow, he is at the very top of my draft wishlist even more than McCartin. 29 possessions also how do we get our hands on this bloke.

Laverde has been quite inconsistent in the last few weeks. One week he is BOG with 26 odd touches then he only gets early to mid teens for a few weeks. Starting to doubt just a little.

The Brions are going to take Wright, never mind Carlton. Don't even get your hopes up.

After seeing yet another stupid, indecisive performance from us, I'm going to hop on the Lever bandwagon for now. It'd be nice to get a player who's always sure of what he's doing & consistently making the right decisions.

Kyle Langford. Like the sound of this guy. He's now jumped to number one for me. He's 190cm can play anywhere the only knock on him is that he's 73kgs. Bonts was recruited around 83kgs. But another tall mid to compliment Bont and Stringer.

This from Bound for Glory.

"Langford has played as a key back to great success, as his lanky arms are excellent in spoiling or outmarking his opponent. His closing speed is fantastic. I believe his running ability is severely under rated, as his work on the lead includes an explosive burst, but it doesn’t seem to wear off over the game.

He’s also plied his trade as a tall wingman to great effect. Against the Pioneers, he gathered 20 disposals, 11 marks (three contested) and eight tackles. He was truly sensational, and he dominated in that Matthew Richardson of 2008 role. The wingman involved in everything."

Can't see us getting Wright with our current pick. Would have to find some way of trading up, would cost a bit for a player not proven at AFL level yet. Could be a master stroke or a big mistake.

I think it's time to get a little daring. He has all the right tools to develop into a powerhouse forward and whilst in development he would at the very least give us a target (given his size). It's a risk but one I hope our recruiting staff are looking into.

Interesting, given it's a free hit I wouldn't mind us having a go at one of these blokes. Especially Wanger.

To put it in perspective, Johann Wagner is currently playing SANFL reserves for Centrals. Kicked 4 on the weekend but it's reserves. How people think he'd be able to adjust to AFL level from reserves level at the age of 23 is beyond me.

Connor McLean - the third tall defender from the SA under 18s side this year is performing better than Wagner in the SANFL reserves for Centrals (as a forward).

The only blokes who I reckon could conceivably have played AFL were Waylon and Reece.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
On another note, Dannnnnnnnnn you'd be 'mirin your boy's performance on the weekend. Hayes had 26 touches, 13 marks (7 contested), 6 tackles, 8 hitouts, 6 inside 50s and 6.1 in the 18s.
Unpopular post of the day: If it takes Hrovat to upgrade our 1st rounder to GWS' spot to pick up Wright, I do it. I imagine we can get a later pick back from them too that they won't use, but I really want Wright and think he could be exactly what we need for a future premiership. I love Hrovat, but you have to give something to get something.
everyone should pretty much know it'll at least take a decent or better player to get a pick upgrade
pretty much every player is going to be unpopular player to throw up, except maybe Austin:p
I'm thinking someone like Wood and our first for GWSs first, might be what ends up happening
only because of past interest and the fact he hasn't signed up yet (think we might be trying to negotiate something) :rolleyes: anyway
Woody is my one of my favorite players, I would be shattered if he left. Hrovat too but out of the two I think Honeychurch plus other draft options we can use to cover his loss, despite his class. If there is any other suggestions to get us either Wright/McCartin or a gun KFP i am all ears. Interested to hear peoples opinions on McCartin v Wright and the preference.
Shhhh. :p
Awesome game though by the sounds of things. Hope he can string a few excellent games together before the draft. Do you think it'll put a greater focus on him leading into the draft or recruiters would need to see more?
Also, let me know when you're done shuffling around the second round and beyond of your phantom draft - really keen to have a read through. Really great work.
nathan would likely have the currency...but does he fill a need for them?
it wouldn't surprise me if there's a move like this in the works from us, from carlton, from half the competition.
you wouldn't want to do it with a particular player (ie - 2m peter) in mind though - not a sure thing he lasts past pick 1
The problem is that he's so big already and he's playing colts against 65 kilo kids. Reece McKenzie syndrome but to a far greater extent.
It's why I don't look too kindly on Keitel's 8 goal haul on the weekend either. It's in colts. Gotta do it in reserves for me to give weight to it, unless you're doing it every week in the 18s without a physical advantage.
Oh, and will do. Appreciate the kind words :)
Looking forward to the update to your phantom Skippos don't like the fact that you have Toby McLean going to Essedon. Any other team but not there. I don't like when players that I like go to teams I loathe. Also think some people will riot if we go for another SA known for his kicking.... haven't had much luck with that :P .
I'm very pro us being aggressive in trades and being more open minded about trading popular players. But it's a mega no to trading hrovat. I think the kids special so noooo way id march him for a simple pick upgrade.
I've been working on the update for awhile now. I'm rewriting the profiles pretty much, the ones from before were just waffly and didn't flow well - my natural writing style is really quite waffly, bad and comma laden. Trying to make it more readable, I guess.
Josh Glenn isn't Fuller though, far from it. He's younger for one which means he's got more time to adapt on his side but he's also a higher level accumulator, a better defender and has a much harder edge. Worst, worst case he'll be a good lockdown back pocket with clean footskills. Best case he's a balanced midfielder who's a key cog within the midfield. He's just so well rounded.
What is his marking like? Definitely think we need to draft more marking players, one area we're real poor at
He isn't that tall is he?
look forward to your update as well, especially to see who you've got come the second round
Firmly for trading up to get 2 meter Peter think his height would compliment a more athletic KPF such as Stringer most beautifly. Athough Durdin wouldn't certainly be the worst option and can virtually play KPF, KPD and give a chop out in the ruck. Very hypothetically but if we obtained 2m Pete and he showed enough signs to slot into our best 22, don't think it would be wise to consider him giving ruck support. Leave that to Roughy instead. I can only dream!
