Pros and cons, strengths and weaknesses etc for Durdin vs Lever Vs Marchbank vs Goddard?
DURDIN

Pros

-Ability to mark the ball at its highest point
-Overhead marking
-Good field kick
-Strong leap and athletic ability

Cons

-Inconsistent
-Will need a few pre-seasons before we see his body fill out
-Looks much more suited to defense then attack

MARCHBANK

Pros

-A Strong mark, both contested and uncontested
-Good skills around, good not great
-Very Athletic
-Late Birthday (?)
-Solid build

Cons

-Injury history
-Lacks height of other KPPs

GODDARD

Pros

-Very solid at nullifying his direct opponent
-Big Strong Frame
-Good mark
-Fair skills (currently)

Cons

-Very Inconsistent
-Looks more comfortable as a defender

LEVER

Pros

-Can provide some rebound
-Strong intercept marker/spoiler
-Decent skills with the ball in hand
-Reads the play real strongly

Cons

-Very light frame
-Lacks a little height to play on the taller KPFs
-Coming off a serious injury

any help? Lever reminds me of Mackie/Maxwell, Durdin a bit like Henderson/Carlilse, Marchbank like Brian Lake or Fevola (with his marking), can't think of one for Goddard, maybe Brown from Collingwood?

Can we have all of them?

Can we have all of them?
I don't mind them all, mostly keeping in mind who would best suit us

Goddard seems like he'd be a very honest defender at AFL once he developed, perhaps the best defensive minded player out of the lot
Lever/Marchbank more offensive and Durdin somewhere in the middle :p

Need KPS to win a flag

Why would you want to play finals if you can't win ?

We've done that for 60 years maybe we should try and win one
Freo got very close last year with tall marking mids. Really only straight kicking cost them. So possible, but yeah not ideal.

Honestly from what I've seen of Marchbank I don't really rate his footskills at all, similar thoughts on Goddard. Would rate Durdins footskills much higher than both, but again I haven't seen that much.

I'm firmly aboard #ThePriceIsWright Express (Peter Wright you those playing at home) you don't realize how good this guy is til you see him live as myself and VitalDread did about 3-4 Weeks ago.

Really?
I thought Marchbank kicked the best out of the lot, over short and long distances
I don't rate Goddard for his foot skills but none of them are particularly bad for a KPD
don't think it would be a detriment to the side

has to be at our pick first though :(

Yeah thats probably a fair comment that none of them are bad for a KPD, but yeah don't really rate Marchbanks footskills too highly but again I dont exactly have a huge sample size to go from.

Ripping effort mate. Thanks.

So if you were Dalrymple and Wright and McCartin have gone, who would you take?

Do you think any will slip a way down eg Lever with his ACL?

I don't mind it but I wouldn't know how badly any injuries sustained would affect things like kicking techniques
seems as if they've all been injured though at some stage, not sure how we get Wright but even he has had back issues
hope like hell at AFL level he isn't wasted as a ruck

I'd take the one that is the hardest worker, judged by interviews to be honest

my favourite is Lever though and he may slip, but I think he could go the other way and go higher
which is one of the few ways we could possibly end up with Wright

but like I said to doggies, not sure how his injury has affected him and said that to Brett Anderson earlier in the year
the combine will be very interesting, just to see how Lever goes

Yes I definitely would have a look but I would make sure that I was sure that we could see him playing good footy at the highest level. Kid has a few problems but I would definitely take a look.

BTW Dav1d Goddard reminds me a bit of Hurley not sure if you feel the same just watching a bit of him I get the feeling he is. Going to be more a role player than an A grade player might put a few teams off (especially us who would prefer Wright/Lever/Durdin) should be taken by the end of first-start of second (15-25) dropped off the face of the planet a bit considering how he was rated early on. Could slide.

But if McKenzie is available at our 2nd pick, you'd have a look. Not many 6'6" players with that much strength fail to make some kind of impression at some point.

I haven't watched Hurley this year

but saw footage of him on Ben Brown :p

see how quick I respond, even at nearly 2am ;)

Need a few things some more strong markers would be nice both mids and talls, Speed, Goal kickers, a elite medium forward to develop to kick gia's 30-40 goals a year preferably one who can kick straight don't feel that our current players are best suited as playing deep (Dickson was insurance in bad times after years of mismanagement and don't feel he'll ever be A class) and most of all a few good KPPs don't have to do everything this draft but I'd like for us to have a go at a few when the cream is there and only cream no cheese or butter.

I might start singing now

and I'm up and down about Langford,
would be happy with either and if it it was a toss up, the one with the best endurance :p need some big hard runners; that can run hard all day

to be honest

I don't want many more players under 183cm unless they're super gifted

we absolutely stink at general marking around the ground and that needs to change
and a decent place to start would be through the draft
not the only area from improvement obviously
but helps a hell of a lot if we can mark the ball and hold onto the ball rather then turning it constantly into a scrap

Better to have mediocre than nothing and build from there mate

This attitude has already shown to not work. Traded for McDougall. Drafted L. Jones. Maybe we should have stuck in for Dawes or Jesse White.
Nope, both mediocre and not helping their respective sides one iota.

We need quality. Banking on two metre Pete with our first pick and hopefully Reece McKenzie later in the draft.
