Yeah it was, looked like he was drop kicking a lot so he was just having a bit of fun.

Looked like they were kicking into a strong wind, 50 meter drop kicks were impressive though.

If the AFL ever bring in the super rules scoring of 9 points for a drop kick Rainbow is our man

I think we should have a close look at AFL players, Sam Critchley,Williamstown Key forward, David Fahey, key defender Williamstown, Ahmed Saad Coburg mid fielder, and Port Melbourne ruckman Alexander Robinson.

If anyone follows Paige Cardona - her latest mock draft has us getting Wright at 5.
1. Saints - Petracca
2. Dees - Brayshaw
3. GWS - Lever
4. Lions - McCartin
5. Dogs - Wright

Ideal situation!!

Hey guys,

Do you think you'll have to use your second round pick for Cordy?

Thanks

If Saints take Petrecca and the order stays the same I can't see us not getting one of McCartin or Wright, surely GWS and Melbourne don't go tall. If GWS go for a forward again I'm going to ****ing crack the shits. It would just be getting beyond a joke and ruining not just the competition but these kids careers.

With Mumford and some good ruck prospects in Lobb, Phillips and I think someone else I'm forgetting, and obviously stacked in the forward lines surely Durdin is a no brainer. Or even a Pickett/Laverde type would make more sense. But knowing our luck they will take a forward.

How about Roos "we expect pick 3 for Frawley and other clubs would agree that's fair" **** off they do. If he gets a big contract fine but don't just give them a good pick to justify not giving a priority pick.

Saints trading down to pick 3 is the only other worry.

Is McCartin really that good?
I'm honestly not too sold on him yet but if he's available at our pick he's definitely a no brainer for us. I do really think he fits in quite well with the type of forward we're looking for. Great contested/one on one mark, fast on the lead, good at ground level (which I feel is very important for any forward we get seeing as we have to scrap for a lot of our goals and have a very 'contested' style in all parts of the ground) and a great field kick/skills if he pushes up the ground.

I like him at FF and a Jones/Reid/Jaksch type at CHF but then add in a couple of Cramers/Stringer/Bonts and then where does our 2nd ruck come from? No way you can play a Cordy on top of that, that's why I'd prefer Wright. Would have to rely on the CHF, Sam Reid might be okay out of those 3 but still not ideal. Maybe if we play a Rough, Roberts, Talia set up down back Rough can do it, would be an interesting but different set up.

Honestly don't think McCartin is that different to Stringer playing out of the square, what maybe 2cm taller and probably a better contested mark which is handy I guess.

That sort of line up is really going hard at big bodies talls who are good below their knees, literally all over the ground, which I like a hell of a lot.

If we get either him or Wright i will be so happy.

Agree I am more in the Wright camp than McCartin's at this stage as Wright can often push up the ground and be that bail out kick that we badly lack. He also has an absolute huge shoe as well and McCartin is very similiar to Stringer both good on the lead and strong in one on ones maybe slightly better one on one than jake but obviously not as clean at ground level. Wright is also decent on the lead as well, even though McCartin is quicker Wright is a bit like Hawkins as he pushes off his opponent and forces them on the back foot and takes easy marks.

Wright purely on a needs basis more so than McCartin but if McCartin is there we will take, no chance of both being there at our first, in fact I don't think either will be at this stage.

We won't, but we will if we have to.

I think if saints trade down we can say goodbye to McCartin and Wright. Brisbane will take whoever the Saints dont in that scenario.

Agree though that if the order remains the same ie Saints dont trade and Melb dont get pick #3 as compensation (If this happens we need to trade with Dees to get pick #2) then we should end up with Wright or McCartin. Melbourne have indicated they will take a mid (most likely Brayshaw), Saints take Petracca and GWS take Lever/Durdin. We are left with Wright/McCartin depending on who Brisbane select.

Now as you say this will unravel if GWS pull their usual s**t and take a forward to add to their futures stockpile. Hopefully the draftees tell them to get stuffed and refuse to play for them - in all seriousness they should as they will be left in the NEAFL for 2 years then sold to the highest bidder.

McCartin is a different forward to Stringer in my opinion. He has far more presence then Stringer, crashes packs (human cannonball gets mentioned a lot at the footy) and is better in the air then Jake. Stringer has loads more X factor at ground level and this is where he gets quite a lot of his goals from.

McCartin is more your typical big power forward.

Yeah I can honestly see them doing it to **** with us lol, we're going to be one of the teams up there when they are, making sure we don't get a key forward would be pretty big for them. I'll actually ****ing rage.

TBH drafting guys so they dont go to a rival is more detrimental to them than us. I think they would draft Wright more to be able to sell him off to the highest bidder in a couple of years. This allows them to spread out the talent of their list. Still a prick of a thing to do. These kids arent commodities!

GWS have 1st rounders in every position essentially. They'll just go best available for the foreseeable future. They don't have any gaping holes in their list that time can't iron out.

they need some gun small/medium forwards imo
I thought they would have gone with Menzel or Billings in the past two drafts, but they passed on both
