It's extremely bad juju to play a kid like him in the ruck full time anyway. Better off letting him play forward for a couple of years til his body develops. Look at the talls that could play forward but went straight into the ruck, they all end up falling apart: Luenberger, Warnock, Dixon etc.
How about when Adam Goodes used to get played through the ruck? they put a stop to that pretty quickly, because he kept getting injuries to his knee

anyway, not long now until the draft
not long at all :)

For fans of Jensen from the VFL side. He will apparently be rookied or is expecting to be.
Excellent. That one horrible kick in the Grand Final aside, he's been awesome for Footscray this year. :)

I havent had a chance to read the last few pages so this may have been brought up. However....

Its looking more and more likely Collingwood will end up with pick 4/5 from brisbane (depending on frawley compo) for Dayne Beams. Do you think any of the teams below us would nominate him at their first pick, forcing collingwood to take him with Pick 4/5 if they want him? That would probably land us Wright

Do you mean nominate Moore? If so, F/S bidding is done before trade period.

I put this in the list discussion thread, but it probably needs to be here:
We could get without much effort (Higgins pick & Jones for 2nd Rounder):
Wright CHF, Menadue W, Oscar McDonald FB (Higgins comp), Viojo_Rainbow HBF (Jones 2nd Rounder trade), Cordy CHB, Foster FF

Perhaps they all don't make it but it focuses on all our needs in just 1 draft

When is that may I ask? This Friday?
Clubs nominate their F/s on Friday (we'll know then if we're bidding on foster). Then the clubs have the weekend to decide if they'll bid for a player, and if so, what they'll bid. Then the actual meeting is Monday morning. Trade week commences immediately thereafter

Do you think FS bidding is best before trade period, or should it be done after trade period? I am guessing with the latter, some teams might exploit it, so they can throw away their first rounder for a gun player, and still pick up a first round pick with their second

Definitely better before trade period, so it isn't exploited by teams trading away several picks to get a player late.

If you have not heard already, he is a natural forward not ruckman. what part of this do you not understand?

Everyone is allowed an opinion, Lake was a natural forward when he was drafted, played his first handful of games up forward, but was converted to a defender and became an exceptional one at that. Spider Everitt was a forward early in his career for St Kilda then became a full time ruckman.

Wright plays ruck also on top of his forward work, he looks to me to be a very good mobile ruck type, everyone is entitled to their opinion, agree we'll disagree here.

Yes but they play them at a certain end of the ground based on needs, and he has also been quoted as saying he is more a forward

hmm so if the picks collingwood have now are the only ones that count. What are the chances of someone nominating Moore so the magpies have to take him with their top pick... it could be why they are so keen to get pick 5 so they have moore plus another gun. ****ers.

Very good chance. I can see us or carton nominating him for sure.

I would be just as happy to have Moore as I would be to have Wright. Kid is a natural forward, looks like it may take him slightly longer to develop though.

I'd be happy to take Moore as well. Would be able to play at either CHF or CHB. Though I would play him at CHB, just seems to athletic and natural for that position. Would pick him ahead of Wright perhaps. But no chance Collingwood will not pick him, but I hope we at least put in a bid for him

I'd bid pick 1 on Moore if we had it

How shitty would you feel if Collingwood have their eye on someone else, and we put in a bid for him. They decide not to take him, and we all finally start celebrating the fact we have actually landed a potential gun key position player for the next 10 years, which we rarely do. Only to find out GWS bid their earlier one as well? :(

We wouldn't start celebrating, because GWS and Melbourne have their picks still before us and their nominations

I'm wondering who Melbourne would take if they don't go for trading it and who Collingwood would take if they get Brisbanes pick
hopefully hes nominated before that!

Anyone heard anything about Cordys height? He was 192 at the start of the year right? Considering his age (and not to mention how ridiculously tall Ayce is) surely you'd be expecting him to end up at 194 +, which could be considered proper CHB height IMO.

Love the fact that we should be able to get him cheap but he actually fits our recent drafting model to a tee. Good attitude, tall, versatile, skilful.

When you think about it we have been ridiculously lucky not just with the quality of F/S's we've been getting, but also the position they play.

2008, desperately need young talls - get Ayce Cordy (ok didn't end up great but still the footy gods tried :p)
2010, going into a full rebuild, we know Maccas method is build from the inside out - Gifted two absolute quality inside mids
2012, midfields taking shape, been drafting inside mids for a few years now, need some outside class and xfactor - come on down Lachie Hunter.
2013, set for smalls, desperately need talls at both ends - Z Cordy for CHB and Foster for FF/CHF.

Gotta admit we've had it pretty good there!
