ok where can I see them? I mean how are we supposed to make decisions on this draft if we don't have footage of some players.....how am I supposed to work here......it's restraint of trade!
I'm not exactly sure where to find it

I haven't followed his progress for a while
I used to be able to download some of the games, but I got banned :p

what draft would you rather.
Durdin
Madadue
McKennzie
Gore
Maynard
Cordy
Jong

or
McCardin -pick 6 and 26
Reid pick 26
Gore
Maynard
Cordy
Jong
Thoughts

Have I missed something? No one is mentioning Redpath for any of these picks. Is that because he was already elevated to senior list and stayed there unlike Jong who was a LTI elevation? I'm assuming we don't need to use a pick on him
I know Big Red has his flaws but I'm not sure we should be cutting him off just yet, particularly with Jones taking his bat and ball

Depends on if he is upgraded nothing has been announced as of yet.

So

Lever
Menadue
McDonald

might not have a key forward, but definitely has 3 hard working players
& perhaps someone like McDonald could be developed as a forward...
we've done it the other way ;)

Love to hear that were into Menadue, want him badly.

I feel like both McKenzie and Menadue will be gone by our second, so I'm pretty shattered we didn't get band 2 for Higgo.

Pull off Lever, McKenzie, Menadue and Cordy, with hopefully one more 2nd rounder for Jones and a third rounder too, and I'll be a very ****ing happy man.

Rewatched the VFL grand final the other day. I hope we elevate him.

Well now that we know the Frawely compo pick is should I put up our 1.0 version of our board mock draft so that we can get some talk about more and different draftees going?

100% need to elevate Redpath with Jones gone. Unless we can somehow take him again as a rookie? Austin in the same boat. It probably depends on how we trade.

I wouldn't be surprised if Hammelmann didn't make it to our 3rd round. I want him though, so I'd be happy taking him at the Higgins pick if we hold onto it.

I'd also take him with our Higgins compensation prefer him to Keitel.

Would be pumped with that, reckon Menadue will go top 20 though.

I haven't kept up with the draft much at all this year, so this might be a stupid question but are we any chance at all to end up with Peter Wright and Reece McKenzie at our picks or would we absolutely need to make some trades to upgrade?

It seems like the club thinks that it'll need to move up for Wright (or McCartin) at least, but is 26/27 going to be early enough for a shot at McKenzie?

Be wary of Skippos though, he bribes umpires and indulges in match fixing :p

I was also wondering Skip if you thought with Jones & co. leaving, do you believe there would be many decent pick ups waiting for us in the third round?

still crossing my fingers for a Jarrod Garlett..badly

Sorry for the late response, only just seen that. Been on a bender for the last week.

With the correct talent identification I most definitely think so. Steele and Hiscox going at 23/36 essentially pushes the draft order down two slots and with the rise of Cockatoo, make that three. So the draft has essentially become three players less shallow at every late pick - pick 47 is 44, and what not.

Even before that though, I personally thought this draft was one where we'd see a lot of quality players picked late. Hindsight should render this draft one of excellent standard - just not at the top end.

I rate Dalrymple and think he's the kind of bloke who'll nail those picks. With that in mind I'd probably cut the losses on players like Tutt and Jones knowing that while you mightn't be getting a great price for them, with the aptitude of your recruiting staff you'll likely get better long term players than them. Let's face it - neither of those two are going to ever be much more than glorified role players.

One good thing about the Frawley compo is at least we now know we have pick 6!

Given the expected Beams trade, this is how the top end of the draft looks...

1. St Kilda - Petracca
2. Melbourne - Brayshaw
3. Melbourne - ???
4. GWS - ???
5. Collingwood - ???
6. WB - ???

So for me the question becomes whether Wright will slide to us.

I think McCartin will go at 3 regardless of whether Melbourne or someone else has the pick.

Then Collingwood will take Wright, who they'll view as a KPF I think.

So better we plan our drafting around Laverde / Lever, etc...

If wright is a long term project, I can see gws and Collingwood both passing on him. Gws have all those bigs and lever or Durdin make too much sense for them. Pies have Witts, grundy, cloke and Moore. Reids body is a mess so why wouldn't they take Durdin or lever as well?? The main concern is another team trading into the top 5 (if gws or st kilda deal). How does a st kilda/gws trade effect things?

1. Gws - petracca
2. Melb - Brayshaw
3. Melb - petracca
4. St kilda - ????

St kilda have longer and hickey so maybe they'd shoot for a Durdin or lever as well.

Either way, the dogs should just roll the dice and keep pick 6.

I'd be happy with Lever if Wright's gone, but I see GWS taking him. So Durdin's probably our best choice I reckon.

Who is this second Petracca Fronk? When you cut him does he divide like an amoeba? :P

Could we take a third petracca at pick 6?
