That would be a dream result.

Worst case scenario for me is Petrecca > Brayshaw > McCartin > Lever > Wright, which is a real possibility. Shows how completely ****** up we are by this compo pick tbh.

Melbourne adds a gun mid and another gun forward to their team, GWS finish off their list with a gun KPD, Pies take a huge step in their mini rebuild adding two gun forwards in Wright and Moore in the same draft and we? Well we take a midfielder whose not really on the same level, or a skinny sort of CHB/sort of CHF in Durdin. Who once again is not really seen on the same level as those other guys.

I agree the completely the comp pick has ****ed us up, I ****ing hate that shit club. Think you're being a bit harsh on Durdin though, personally I agree with the "top 4" part and Petracca/Brayshaw/McCartin/Wright are ahead of the rest but I would prefer Lever/Durdin to the rest of the field (Ahern/Laverde/Weller/Goddard/Duggan etc). I think Durdin is going to be a gun swing man at AFL level kind of like a Jake Carlisle, Durdin also has really good foot skills imo which is a big plus. While we don't get the KPF we are desperately after we could easily complete our backline in one draft (remember when we lost to Essendon and the whole forum was complaining about our backline saying it was more important than a KPF..)

#6 - Sam Durdin - CHB
#26 - Connor Menadue - HBF
#61 - Zaine Cordy - BP on 3rd talls

FB: Z.Cordy - Roughead - Wood
CHB: Menadue - Durdin - JJ

With Talia and Roberts to slot in somewhere if Cordy etc don't make it or Talia/Roberts dislodge someone.

We could then use picks #27 on the best available player and #44 on a Hammellmann/Keitel project KPF.

Would have to go very hard at a marquee KPF next year though..

Get our KPF we have been after since Grant, sure our backline up adding McDonald, Cordy and Menadue off HB and get a potential gun small forward with a late pick (I remember reading somewhere Milne/Balla/Thomas etc were all late picks).

We'd be making out like bandits. Getting Wright would be great for our forward line McLean is the best player that could be available at our third and is an absolute freak a bit of Elliot and a bit of Motlop (Skills and vision wise) No 1 for scoring assists in the TAC Cup. McDonald has done really good jobs on all the top 5 forwards from Victoria and Menadue is a gun the exact sort of player that we need to break lines and kick the footy.
You've really sold me on McLean over the past month :P really want this kid, just seems like he will add a hell of a lot to our forward line. Reckon he has midfield potential? At least part time anyway.

Holy shit if we can pull off Wright, Menadue, McDonald, McLean and Cordy I will ****ing cry.

Yep. That would be a really nice result.

It's a shame he couldn't let Duggan slide that extra spot & give us our 2 doggie supporting, jets boys.

I know a lot of people think we need a key defender, but Duggan & Menadue would do wonders for our outside run.

Something tells me Skippos likes to look after the doggies...

This from Bound for Glory on McDonald

"While Oscar excels defensively he’s not fantastic offensively. Like his brother, he’s able and willing to work in the offensive transition and involve himself but skills wise he’s lacking. His disposal isn’t great nor his his decision making. He’s just someone who probably shouldn’t be a primary rebounder. However despite that he’s still capable of playing 100 games."

I don't know, but do we really want another player with dubious skills just because he's a KP defender? Better off with Keitel perhaps.

I swear I read somewhere he was quite a decent kick, i dunno haven't seen him but yeah wouldn't really want him too much if thats the case tbh.

Seems to me in these phantom drafts they put just about anyone who's tall at our picks even if they are probably more suited to later picks or even being rookied.

Instead we could maybe get this guy who is expected to go at 28. His kicking looks ok around the ground but his set shots are not great. He is not a big contested mark just yet, but he's still light in the body. I like him better.

This from Bound for Glory

Pick 28 – Carlton: Matthew Hammelmann (QLD, intelligent key position utility)

198 cm, 88 kg, 8/3/96

"At 198cm he has a really nice burst and creates separation nearly always and that combined with his height, reach and timing ensures that on the lead he’s deadly. He takes the ball at the highest point and straight lines through it. His follow up work is excellent with his agility, movement and pickups at ground level a particular highlight. Below the knees he’s very capable with his marking down low and mobility as well as a general cleanness a highlight. His vision is also excellent for a bloke of his size."

would anyone oppose with getting reece mckenzie as early in the draft as possible even with our first selection?

the suggestion was raised on trade radio, they seemed to believe there was no need to as he would still be there at our pick 25.... i am not so sure that he will be, but pick 6 is a little high if there is better talent there

I'd be horrified if we spent pick 6 on Reece McKenzie.

i have a feeling he will be snapped up before that pick which kind of sucks, hopefully he slides and we grab him. know what he can do
and his a pure forward, good dukes and strong

whys that
Bad attitude, one dimensional, physically limited.

That's just focusing on his negatives. He's an outstanding pack mark and a good kick for goal, but he needs to be more than that.

I'd be very happy to get him at our second, but I wouldn't touch him with a prized top 10 pick.

Best thing about that list is that currently we're guaranteed to grab 4 of those blokes, realistically. Our current picks are 6, 25, 26 and we've already snapped up Cordy. Wow it's going to be a good draft.
I really hope we grab one that's not on his list: Menadue.

My dream for the first three would be Wright, Duggan and Menadue. Make it happen, Dalrymple!
