:( ought to be at least one player I rate dropping to 3rd round I hope...
The draft is evil like that, I know
I am pretty positive we could get 3 very good players
with our first and second round picks, the third round; not so sure
except for maybe mature agers; which I don't follow to be honest

Same only one I know of is Glenn but then again Honey was rated by some as end of first round last year and we picked him up with pick 60

Rated by who in the first round?

I know a recruiter laughed his arse off when we recruited him though

the one I was more shocked about sliding was Lewis Taylor..

Caleb Daniel is one to look at, smaller than Mitchell but what a player. Touk Miller is another to look at. I saw him live a few weeks ago, very impressive, but small.
Daniel is a faster better skilled version of libba snr (not say he'll be that freakish but he definitely is something special) could be worth a crack seeings the volume of pick we'll have. I rate him very highly despite his size is a freak, Touk Miller is likely to go a little earlier as he is a very good player. I'm interested to see where Dan McKenzie is rated after that combine.

think it was one of the Phantom drafters last year that had him at 20 or there abouts I never thought he'd get through to 60. Taylor shocked me too what the hell was the other recruiters thinking?

Fronk, Cooney to Carlton, is still a big chance.
You've responded to yourself

I thought Marchbank might be a chance to still be a late first round pick
though I do like him more then McKenzie for our very first pick

lets hope we get a second first round pick

I'm questioning the merit of moving up 4 places and the cost-benefit. OK a move to 2, then guarantees us either Wright or McCartin. From those who follow this more closely than I do ... how big a gap is there between Wright/McCartin and players like Lever and Durdin (also touted as top 10 and who should be there at 6)? Moves like 6, 27 and Cooney for pick 2 ... that sounds like a lot to give up. Is there really that big a difference?

The difference between the big forwards from what i can work out by the informed posting for our benefit is their style. be it forward/ruck, FF or swingman. then they also have different atributes too, i don't see that massive a difference capabilites wise between them. though all comes down to who we think would suit us best, and i hear mixed things on that too. Wright, Mccartin,Lever, Marchbank. i honestly dont even know anymore, which could mean any one of them would be a winner, but if thats the case why bother trading up......unless we are amassing picks for a completely differetn purpose... it's getting confusing for me lol

Yes agree.......Daniel is pretty special and surely he can't be going in the 70's....He will get snapped up before then surely. Loads of smallsih players become really good footy, but this kid is quick, hard and skillfull.

Two are more proven forward prospects the other two project more as defenders.
It's a shame Lever was injured this year, it would have been interesting to see him have a run in the forward line.

Picks in the 40s in this draft are the best ever....Lonie,Touk and others are good prospects after 50 its lean.

Durdin on trade radio today.
Come November he may be a Bulldog ? Think he will be a great player.( prefer lever though )

If we end up with pick 6, it's hard to see either McCartin or Wright being available to us. Indeed, Lever and Durdin may have been gone too.

So what's Plan B?
that would mean Petracca/Brayshaw slid
which would mean we'd likely take one of them

Who really knows what the top 6 will be? Did you pick it correctly last year, or the year before? We won't ever know for sure before draft day what the club's plans are. All we can do is guess. But you already know this and are just amusing yourself. ;)

im really worried about lever with his knee - i wouldnt take him tbh - thats just me though...
