I don't see us needing to trade up from Pick 4 to draft Wright if we get that from GWS. Pick 5 will either be Durdin or Laverde. Pick 6 should be Lever.

Lets sit at 4 & 6. Keep our other picks or try to get mid first round picks to get Menadue or similar.

Lets no spend the farm on Pick 1. If we can get it for a bunch of late first round and early second round, great. But Pick 4 & 6 sit about where we want them.

Certainly in my mind best case scenario, only other option I would consider at 7 would be Goddard.

Laverde just outside top 10 for me.

Agree. It's hard work reading all these posts with pick 7 in it. It's highly unlikely (5%) that we'll get 2 picks from GWS. They have very intention of only offering one pick, not two picks for Griffen. We must be prepared for that as supporters otherwise they'll some serious meltdowns on this board....

Watched him this year at the Swannies, I actually thought he was 22 which is why I didn't bring him up. He's a great player. The Swans at the beginning of the season were tipped to be heading straight to the spoon. They had lost most of their senior players and had a bunch of fresh kids without much if any WAFL experience. The form these kids showed allowed us to eventually finish top 4 and if not for a terrible 4th quater we would have been playing off for a spot in the GF. I can't rate the kids from the Swans highly enough, Blakely was all class.

An academy selection is different to a pre selection isn't it? I thought Steele was just another player in the draft, just with the ability to be drafted through the academy system.
