Has there been any discussion on Caleb Daniel? His highlights look impressive. Will his height mean he slides all the way to the rookie draft?

Moses and the five draftmandments.....

1) thou shall not pick a footballer simply in the fear he shall not be available at your next pick

2) thou shall report that thy were surprised one of their selections slipped through

3) thou shall be rewarded by Cordy karma - where history rights its wrongs and corrects thy advantage and disadvantage of father son selections

4) thy must not listen to those suffering from diving Olympicous ....where normal fans consider themselves experts based on the size of the splash - or in the drafts case - a two minute video highlighting only the good things players have done

5) thou must learn to respect thy rookie draft and treat it as a breeding ground - not a reserve list of players

that is the only one that concerns me
I'd be pretty happy with most of the players we're been linked to, so no diving from Olympicous for me :p

Understand we're heavily into d Mckenzie. Toss of the coin as to whether he's available or not.

I'm a big fan. Excellent athlete but also has some of the best decision making for players available at that stage. Disposal is neat and can take a decent grab. Would be pleased if we picked him up.

So it would seem McKenzie and Vickers-Willis are our two men. Still would prefer Blakely/Neal-Bullen, especially if we are drafting Vickers-Willis as an extractor.

Wouldn't even care who else we get aslong as we get Daniel Mckenzie, please tell me the rumours are true!

Sorta hope VW goes before our pick tbh.
is it just me or does it sound like he is chewing gum when he talks?

I think VW and McKenzie would compliment one another well, but don't think they're the most exciting players probably going around

I guess its not as exciting when we don't have the high pick in the draft? :P

He's probably going to be a good player just feel we have bigger needs tbh. Would be really happy with McKenzie though. A McKenzie/Menadue combo would probably be one of my favourites at the moment!

I'm still pretty excited considering we've got so many picks and who knows whose gonna slide to em :)

Finding it hard to get excited as we don't have a low first round. Hopefully that'll change for me by the time Thursday rolls around
If Tom Boyd was in this draft he would be number one by the length of
the Flemington straight so technically we have had a low pick. I keep
trying to tell myself this anyway ignoring the obvious facts, see i am
getting the hang of this bigfooty stuff.

the one player I'd want if we had a high draft pick now, would probably be Lever or Laverde
think they would suit us

and I meant D. McKenzie as well

Menadue and McKenzie would be a fast combination, don't think we'd need to pursue Hoskin-Elliot then
just got all out for an establish key defender next year

I do hope we take some actual Key position players in the draft though, even if its 45/46

Ive decide who I want / hope we can land on Thursday:

27: R Mackenzie (we obviously got Boyda but need some depth up forward to help him out)
28: Menadue or D Mckenzie (run and dash mids with good disposal)
39: Keitel (groom him as a kpd)
45: DVJ (reckon he will slide and hope we can land him here)
46: Jack Lonie (would make a very potent small forward combo with dal)

This bolsters our list in all areas talls (kpd/kpf), running mid, quick small forward and running hbf with elite disposal.

This will probably change again before Thursday but this is it for now.

I'm more excited about this draft given we have no idea who will be available at our picks, it's considered a deep/even draft, and we have a lot of picks. Should be fun.

I've seen nothing of EVW, but the guys I've spoken to see him as one of those guys you just want on your team. He's just a winner. Wins contests, takes on challenges, super smart and a super hard worker. He'd probably fit with the group well.

My gut feel is that D Mckenzie isn't available and we take menadue and EVW.

Perfect for us this draft :-)

Worked out so well with depth going to 50..

We need pace and kicking ability.
Menadue
McKenzie
Webb-or Maynard would cap of our list

Add Keitel and Lonie sweet as bro..

Hurry up Draft day.

My wispers that we are into McKenzie ,Menadue and Webb where from 2 months ago and are getting stronger

Its pleasing to have plenty of picks in our range. Good job by the list management team.

I hope we continue to look at big, versatile midfielders this year - our depth has taken a beating since end of season.

They must be able to use the ball by foot, and it'd be nice for them to have a bit of zip. EVW, D. McKenzie, Blakely, Menadue, Nelson have likely write-ups. The only sub 6 footer I'd look at is Caleb Daniel - who has demonstrated stratospheric foot skills, vision, and decision making abilities.

If all available I'd draft EVW, menadue, nelson, a kpd and Daniel at our picks.

Yeah I agree, would be happy to go all out on speed and run and then next year just target Carlisle or even Rance as a FA, which would probably be the best outcome seeing as it's about time to start using FA now.

So McKenzie/Menadue at 26/27. Really want McLean if he's there at 39, just think he'd be perfect to partner with Dahl at Boyds feet, so much xfactor and excitement with those two.

That's covers most parts of the ground in regards to smalls, than at 45/46 ideally you'd be lookin at a CHF and a KPD. Mate Cripps and Neilson?

Otherwise I'd also be really happy to get Keitel at either 26/27/39. Think he'd be perfect for us at either end of the ground, prefer him forward though he'd be great to compliment the other guys down there.

If we took him at one of our early picks I'd then be looking at Webb in the 40s. So two quick skilful and also versatile mids, one small forward (who looks quite capable of going into the middle), one KPD and one KPF.

Twoomey thinks Neilson will go between 30-50

so maybe we'd grab Webb at 39 if he was still there, maybe Webb can be a half back with that penetrating kick we want?
certainly has a good height at 186cm

I wouldn't mind Neilson at one of our 40s picks, but who knows who we will go
still think we need a few additional developing talls ><
