So you don't rate Petracca?
I rate Petracca as the best player in the draft but still feel he is not as good as bonti/KK from last year.
BUT I wouldn't take mccartin at pick 1, wright has more unique attributes and thus if we were to be picking this year and decided on a forward, I would trade back to pick 4.

Either way Wright or McCartin the Saints should go the KP forward I reckon.

Just reading what Emma Quayle is posting on the Age site. Carlton have been linked with Menadue but she had this to say.

"I think they'll likely pick a midfielder, unless Caleb Marchbank gets through, he'd be hard to pass on. But he could go earlier in the order. Players like Lachie Weller, Alex Neal-Bullen, Touk Miller, Connor Blakely could be around - Weller's the one who would address that need for outside pace. Connor Menadue is one they could look at and who might be there at their next selection. They've also been linked pretty strongly to Blaine Boekhorst, a 21 year old from WA. Not sure they'd jump and use their first pick on him but stranger things have happened."

So she thinks that Menadue could slip to 28, but if they do go for Boekhorst then unless the Bombers take him Menadue is there for us I reckon.

Wright reminds me of Roo, so he could learn from him. Just thought they could have got more value from pick 1 by trading with GWS.

Carlton at P19 or P28? If Weller is there at P26 we should be all over him.

Anyone else thinking how nice it would have been to get Carltons pick 28 for Jones (and Tutt)? Imagine having 26, 27 and 28 in this draft! Imagine pulling the trigger 3 times in a row on Menadue, D. McKenzie and Vickers-Willis if they all got through! Although after now realising the depth of this years draft it becomes more understandable why Carlton didn't give it up. They would have paid overs.

Would think St Kilda takes him at 21/22 if no one selects him in the teens.

depends, they are also linked to Lamb, Ellis and Mckenzie. If they take Menadue then someone of quality slips down a notch. I think the saints will take more mature player with Picks 21 and 22. Just gut feel.

Quayle reckons we'd think about blakely if he slipped to us and we like McLean and possibly Smith further back. Who wouldn't like McLean?

The information I have it that IF Ed Vickers-Willis is there at our first pick we will select him

Dream scenario and yes I know this wouldn't happen in a trillion years! :D hahah
26. Menadue
27. EVW
39. Mcdonald
45. D. Mckenzie
46. R. Mckenzie

Pick 28 was what she was talking about.
If Weller was there for our 26/27 and we didn't take him we'd be mad. He's be that midfielder class between the grunt that we have. Add a speedy mid also and it'd be a great result at 27 or 39.

Yep has been consistent news that we are getting EVW if available at our pick, looks fairly solid now (unless it's a big smokescreen :D)

I hope we can land Menadue or a top 20 sliding mid with the other pick, would be a great start to the draft IMO.

Yep I think Menadue/EVW seems the likely combo for 26/27. Could a spanner in the works be thrown though if Lamb or R.McKenzie was available at those picks. Could be a possiblity particularly if Dalrympie sticks to his best available mentality (particularly for Lamb). We have less than 0.5% chance that Weller is available past 21 let alone 26, don't know about speculation that he could get to 28 cause he is exactly what we need.

Think EWV (if available) is the tallest we go still think we are short a genuine small forward (hopefully McLean) and 2 more outside speedy ball users like Webb and Drummond at 45/46 would be a bloody good result. J.Nelson could slide to around their so I would be happy with 2 of those 3. Keitel also I would be ok with.

Can dalrymple deliver with 2nd round onwards picks , I think this is he's biggest draft to date what has he got in him , no first rounders to make him look good

Think they were talking about Weller in regards to pick 19, if he is available at 26 I would absolutely lose my shit. Seems like its pretty set that Cockatoo is going top 20 now but is there any chance at all he is there at 26? He is probably close to the best fit for us in the draft tbh (well apart from the top 5 guys). If we believe EVW can play midfield eventually then yeah I'd be real happy with him, another extremely tall mid to add to the list! If we see him as a medium defender though I wouldn't be too keen tbh.

D4c reckons we like him (VE) as a mid. Very tall midfield and a pack of leaders coming through

Yeah absolutely fits the bill then, wouldn't mind a bit of extra pace on him and maybe some cleaner footskills but hey if he was perfect he'd be going top 5 :P

If we don't take a runner or a damaging attacking player with one of our first two picks, I'll be filthy. McDonald & Vickers-Willis would be a joke.

I can understand the selection of Vickers-Willis because of his versatility & football smarts, the latter we're sorely lacking, however I see little merit in selecting a Key-Defender with one of our first picks when we're currently pretty well-stocked in that area, as opposed to a run & carry player, something we don't have (certainly not an AFL-standard one anyway).

No to McDonald while we have Roughead, Roberts, Talia, Z.Cordy & Morris on the list.

We should be taking one of Menadue, D.McKenzie, Garlett, Lamb, Blakely, Lamb, Cavka, or any other runner/high quality kicker I'm missing with one of 26/27.
