49. Hawthorn
Billy EVANS

Bendigo Pioneers | 19/10/96 | H: 190cm | W: 87kg

Billy finished equal runner-up in our best and fairest and had a fantastic year. An inside midfielder who played well at the national carnival, he’s a tough inside ball winner, got good skills, is solidly built and pace is ok for his size. Been a lot of interest in him so we’re hopeful someone will take him in the draft. –Bendigo Pioneers region manager Ray ByrneIn the mix: Patrick McKenna, Reece McKenzie, Teia Miles

Very much looks like a Dal pick imo

Menadue @ 34......

- Us passing him

60. Carlton
Jayden FOSTER
Calder Cannons | 1/6/95 | H: 195cm | W: 90kgI was surprised that the Bulldogs didn’t take him as a late father-son pick. He has developed his strength and agility this year and is a good mark on the lead, but he needs to now start taking pack marks and crashing packs. He is a quite reliable kick for goal and there is no comparison in regards to where he is now from where he was at the same time last year. He is a late developer who will be a monster of a man at 21 or 22. – Calder Cannons talent manager Ian Kyte

- Nasty

What is it about Foster that the dogs dont see in him that Carlton and Fremantle do?
They have better KPF stocks than us yet we pass on a chance in a lifetime to draft a KPF that would have bled red, white and blue for a draft pick in 7o+ range when our club is crying for one.
I honestly hope this doesn't come back to haunt us because if it does i personally wont be happy.

He couldnt have been that bad to not nominate him surely? He kicked the most goals as a Key Forward this year........

Cross and vince will be done by the time petracca and Brayshaw are any good and jones will be heading that way as well. He's 27 in January.

Viney is a good goer but small with average skills. Toumpas is an ok link man but they're a dime a dozen. Tyson is a beast. Salem is small and still a query.

I'm not concerned about melbourne at all.
I'm glad that McCartin will be kept out of their clutches. No other tall forwards at St Kilda are worth mentioning and Melbourne already have a gem in Hogan. The Boyd/Stringer combo will be the one to watch

I'm not too concerned by the midfield depth at other clubs - we need to add quality this year and next, but the core of the unit in Liberatore, Wallis, Bontempelli, Macrae, Smith (pending fitness), Hrovat, Stevens and Prudden (included because I want to live, but he'll be good when fit) is there, and we'll have Honeychurch, Hunter, Dahlhaus and others rotating through the middle.

If we can add, say, Menadue, the versatile Vickers-Willis (expect he plays in the midfield at times) and Drummond this year, and capitalise on what is likely to be a very early draft pick next year, we'll be in a good position.

Defense is a big worry, though. It'd be nice if there was a tall defender coming out of contract at the end of next year that would be more than happy to come to the Kennel...

Viney, Toumpas, Jones, Tyson, Cross, Petracca, Brayshaw, Salem, Vince And add more in the draft.
Very good midfield in a few years

Cross, Vince and Jones aren't getting any younger. Toumpas has delivered little to date. Leaves Vincey, Tyson, Salem and the unknowns.... Not panic stations yet about their midfield...

Emma Quayle has put up her first round: http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-ne...s-firstround-predictions-20141126-11uey0.html

From the looks of things Daniel McKenzie won't reach our picks. She reckons he might not even get to North Melbourne's second pick at 25 if they overlook him at 15.
Agree Mckenzie unlikely to get to us. I've all but given up on him. :(

Haven't been massive on menadue but if Mckenzies off the board, I'm now hoping we take him.

If Mcdonald, vickers-willis, mckenzie and menadue are all off the board whoever......panic stations?

We then get Maynard & that would mean a slider someone fell out of the first round, for us to snaffle up

I liked the Cunico pick, but never really seen Cunico off the half back

I remember one game he at Champs he had 20+ disposals before 3/4 time when he broke his nose in a collision

Daniel

He's one of the mids that some on here are keen on right?

Yeah I think if he could win his own footy then we'd pick him. He is really inconsistent though. Evans game against SA was brilliant 28 disposals and 13 clearances or something like that.

Do we roll the dice and take r Mckenzie if he gets through, as it looks like he might?

I think I would Fronk . He looks more than ok to me for bloke of his size.
His draft camp results would have made a lot of people reassessing where he sits.

Wigg is a stay away for me. He's a nice player but I think he was put in a position by being lose man. And I don't think his kicking is that special. Its good but not elite. Already have Biggs and Darley who I think are the same player.
