No more likely crippas dad or brother might have got slightly excited and told a few too many people that we were going to take him and then the rumour mill gets hold of it.
Yeah I reckon this would be the case.

Not much the club can do about that.

Is it just me, or do others HATE the fact that the scum has the live pick directly before us. Gave me the absolute Shites when they were able to grab Hurley before we selected Yaz. (Hindsight will show that was a win for us, but just having to pick over the carcass after those drug cheating bastards really pi55es me orf!) just saying. (Right, now wheres my coffee)

Anyway, Rogers, with his folklore 170+ interviews, has got my vote of confidence. I think the thing us armchair experts forget, is that one Michael Aloitius Malthouse will have walked in and said, I want a .........., and a............., and another..........., and then get me a ............ so I can mess with his head. Whilst I would love a Kyle Langford, a Tom Lamb, a Reece McKenzie, a Eddie Betts/Jeff Garlett type, hell I even reckon it'd be kind of cool to get Caleb Daniel and hide him in Levi's shorts. The fact is though, I dont know shite and we'll probably get none of the ones I want. But we will get a good one. Rapped with Crippa, Menz, Daisy, Doc, Anders, Rowey, and the like. (Only Boots of late I've been vindicated in my hatred.) They've already delivered KJ, LJ, MW, MD and will secure JT so far. The rest are bonuses IMO. But i'm still gunna come on here and change my mind every 3 hours until I get it completely wrong.

I'm on the Tom Lamb bandwagon now (coz Gary Ablett Jnr will probably get my last pick in Kyle.) A Fev who can run! Who'da thunk.

I'll go now and do some paperwork. I hate working weekends............coffee!

Have no problem them losing Ryder for that pick. It's the pick after ours that irks me.

Why the AFL had to give them something back for their crimes is beyond me?
They didn't afford that good will to Adelaide who lost two years of drafts for what must surely be a much lesser crime.

No recruiter worth their salt will guarantee a potential draftee that they'll be taken, unless of course it happens to be a pick #1
There may be good indications along the way that there is a strong interest in the player, but that's where it ends.

Wouldn't it be fun if St.Kilda took Brayshaw?

Would not surprise me if they took McCartin to be honest. Melbourne would have kittens! Only the Academy picks and F/S are givens.

Although Petracca seems to be all the rage at 1 i still think McCartin is a good chance .
They must replace NW so grab the best KPF now .

They can add some really good mids at 21 and 22 and you would have to think the saints are a lock for the spoon again next year where the draft has plenty of good mids .

Nathan Wright?

Spencer White is the new Buddy, is he not?
Saints are in for a few years of real pain. No getting away from it and no draftee will change that immediately.

McCartin will be very similar to Roughead, wont set the world on fire in the early years while being a solid contributor then in his mid twenties will turn into a force.
Saints would be mad not to pick him, Petraccas will be good maybe even great but with next year being a midfielders draft take the forward for now when you can.

Saints future Forward line could look like this:

Membrey McCartin Longer
White Lee Resting mid

Without McCartin it looks really bare.

Right.

I guess I'll never fully understand how some people can form such strong opinions about potential draftees on the back of what they've seen in very limited highlights packages uploaded to Youtube.

To then be critical of recruiting staff who watch these players for a living and have viewed thousands of hours of footage across a number of years because they don't see it the same way as some amateur BigFooty posters who post their mock drafts is just absurd.
I'll never understand why people put so much faith in the recruiting staff and their infallible thousands of hours of footage. We'd probably have a better success over the last 2 decades consulting a spirit medium to do our drafting.

We've had some big misses but tell me which club has been infallible over a period of time?

Again we have to say: Recruiting is very important.......................Development equally so.

Some people feel they have to defend everything CFC too the hilt ... it makes them a better Carlton supporter you see ...

I'll never understand why some people continue to blame Rogers and his new team for Hughes' mistakes.

What are next drafts KPF stocks likely to be like, any standouts?? Because I reckon the saints will know they are a good chance to have the #1 pick again next year, so might just lock in the no risk Petracca who is the standout mid.

No, was listening next years crops majority all mids, PaigeCardona podcast and gettjng impression that if we want talls now is time if we are going down the rebuild/refresh path.

Jaksch good move if stays healthy and fully lives up to potential. I know saying will love to get a Weller or Ahern but its conflict of interest as I want tall KPP and best available mids at same time and doubt get both

Good thing with this draft is you could list 30 players and you could argue they'd all add something to the list. We have two picks within that 30 and with Heeney, Moore and Steele it's probably the pick of the best 27 available talents.

Petracca, Brayshaw, McCartin, Wright, Laverde, De Goey, Pickett, Langford, Weller, Ahern, Duggan, Garlett, Menadue, Marchbank, Durdin, Goddard, Lever, Ellis, Cockatoo, Blakely, Viojo Rainbow, Cavka, Lamb, McKenzie, Maynard, Miller, McDonald, D McKenzie, Vickers Willis, McLean, Smith, Boekhorst

We'll have two of these guys on our list IMO and even though it may be some of the lower rated ones it's still a damn good addition to our team. Something like Cavka and McDonald would even be a good result.

15 Players that are unlikely to get to us. (including the three already committed)

6 players thereafter I'd be very happy to see in our colours with picks #19 & #28

We'll be fine, I'm sure :)

Despite Lamb's issues if he slid to us at 28 you'd still be pretty happy with that. I would also be very very happy if we got Cavka with 28.
