I think, and I may be wrong, in that when Rogers talks about character he may mean qualities such as respect, integrity, being self-motivated and having leadership abilities.
Some may confuse leadership with being loud but that's not necessarily nor always, the case.
Judd was never loud but he always garnered respect for his work-rate, determination and training.................didn't play too bad either

If by some, you mean me......No, i do not confuse leadership with being loud.
But playing groups need life and energy. It is a lifeblood.
Our coach has publicly said we have too many quiet kids. If a potential draftee is notably quiet and introverted, it is not a quality that will help him get to Carlton atm.
That doesn't mean the kid is no good, or you don't understand what actions mean instead of words.
