In this crazy situation where we get Cameron and lose Armo do we look to bring in ROK to make up for the leadership that we lose with Armo? Or do we just keep Jones for an extra year?

I'd rather have ROK than Jones, if it came down to it

I don't mean this as a dig at our beloved Saints co's im as passionate a Saints man as you can get.
But if I was from another club looking to change with the choice of the Dees or Saints id probably go Dees.
They are a little bit more advanced with their list and Paul Roos as coach for a couple of yrs would entice a young player.
Yes Roos has only signed for 3, but we havnt had a history of many coaches lasting much longer.
So sadly I think Cameron would choose them over us.

But that's me thinking as a young gun opposition player. If I was thinking as me id say " F--K you Dees you've been on a 5 yr plan for 35 yrs now. Im going to the bloody Saints WOOO HOOO"

They do have a stigma of perennial failures though. Paul Roos looks like a man who has stemmed the flow of blood but there are a million little cuts. The Saints look more like they are a manipulative card shark dressed as a little old lady lulling those around us into a false sense of security.

Spend 2 years under Roos, or spend 2 years working one-on-one with one of the best centre half forwards of the last decade in Riewoldt? I reckon Cameron would get a whole heap more out of the second option.

That said, I'll believe Cameron's coming to St Kilda when we've signed him. It'd be absolutely massive though, I'd trade just about anyone for him.

If somebody like Cameron DOES walk youd think the Dees have front running. They have a bit of cash to throw around after Mitch Clark walking away from their salary cap.
Plus they are a big chance to maybe finish 2nd or 3rd last.
If they finish 2nd last they get pick 2. Then they get a compensation pick for Frawley ( who will go) That pick will be number 3
With pick 2 & 3 they can get whoever the hell they want.

Personally, If I had picks 2 and 3 I'd take 2 of Wright /McCartin / Petracca and run.

But if Cameron was available the could have Cameron and Petracca.

That's what makes this so hard to believe. Why would GWS already make a deal with us when Melbourne could have two draft picks ahead of us and would definitely be keen on him? Especially considering he is contracted and they don't have to trade him.

One has got to ask though, given everyone speaks of Patton's knee troubles, just how bad are Jeremy Cameron's ankles? Is there an issue there?

I ask because this far out from knowing the picking order, a compo pick is about the only certainty at this stage of the year.

Doesn't matter what Dees offer, if Cameron chose to pick St Kilda then GWS can only deal with St Kilda. You can't force a player to go to a team he doesn't want whether he's contracted or not. What if Dees could only offer $3M over 5 and we have offered $4M over 5? Which would you choose?

I'm finding it hard to comprehend Cameron in a Saints jumper next year as well but I just don't think that Brian would make that call if he wasn't certain that Cameron has picked St Kilda.
