Ok so pardon my ignorance because I just don't get time for follow the Jnr leagues...

If some one like J Bruce settles in the fwd line, are there any CHB prospects to replace him?

I know the focus has been on finding a KPF. And not saying that Bruce is the answer, but just wondering.

Around our second pick? Goddard, Marchbank and Lever however all three projected to go mid first round. We may get lucky and one slides but unlikely. Keitel capable as a back and will likely be avail at our second pick. Durdin the highest rated key back but he's a top 5'er and not quite worth investing pick 1 one.

Yep, all that. I think Bruce will still end up down back eventually, especially once Fisher is no longer there, as so many who are not quite up to it forward do, but I think all this playing up forward will just make him more rounded and hopefully give him even more confidence once he does return to the backline. If he ends up capable of playing forward permanently that will just be a big bonus.

Jaksch for our 2nd rounder may be our best option if we see Bruce staying forward though. The best thing about him is that we hopefully wouldn't have to wait 3 years before he's ready to play there, like we might with someone like Keitel.

Yep, I think we'll go Jakshe in the PSD, rather than get a young CHB with our second round pick.

We can't just "go" Jaksch in the PSD.

1st - he nominates a move back home.
2nd - GWS try and work the best deal they can
3rd - Jaksch explores all possible trade destinations.
4th - Trade is made.

It's how we got Delaney & Bruce & Longer. There may have been an implied threat to use the PSD, but it didn't eventuate.

Do you reckon Carlton, Demons & Bullies won't be offering up a princely sum for him in a trade?

Last year only Jed Lamb went via the PSD - with Sydney & GWS were at loggerheads.

We will need to trade for him IMO.

If Jaksch specifically nominates us as the only club he wants to go to then what does it matter what the other clubs offer? We either come to terms on a trade or he goes into the PSD. With the rumblings from the club about being 'ruthless' when targeting players I don't see us being to happy to part with picks if we don't have to.

Players always nominate a club. All it would take is for us to offer O'Rourke (for example) 1.1mil over 3 years, 300k more than any other offer. He says he wants to come to us and no other club. GWS and us are at loggerheads over compensation. We have pick 1 in the PSD, O'Rourke knows that, GWS know that and obviously we know that. After tedious posturing GWS take our first offer. That's pretty much what would've happened with the Longer and Bruce negotiations.

This is pretty much the way I see it going down. We offer these young kids way above what other clubs would to get them to choose us where they might otherwise might have wanted to go to a "better" team. It is the one thing we can offer that most of the other Melbourne teams wont be willing to or can't do. If a trade can't happen on our terms the player goes to the PSD and we get them anyway.

All it costs us is some cap space we weren't going to be using anyway and it shouldn't be enough to hurt our FA plans in a few years.

more frees up again with the Lenny retirement so we have the cash to splash.

Yup. Pretty much what Finnis said the other day.

Looks like a big **** , am I allowed to say that?

( no not really I'm only having a shot at Brian Taylor and I apologise to anyone in the gay community i may have offended and will seek therapy at once ).

But for god sake scruff your hair up a bit kid.

It's been a few days since I've said this so I may as well randomly say it again, Alex Urban thanks Saints staff. Everyone is talking about the young talent and reshuffling the top 20 (where does Petracca go now? is Peter Wright no longer a top 1 or 2 pick?) meanwhile everyone mentions Urban as a pick in the 30's, 40's or 50's while he dominates for the Chargers.

Man I hope we get him with our 3rd pick.
