Except that Membrey is a not-quite key forward and we need pace.

Not sure Towers is either tbh, he plays m/f, Membrey is 1cm shorter than Towers, but 5 kgs heavier and at 20 likely to be trained into any role..
Membrey has much better NEAFL form, though I am clueless on a pace comparison, I've seen them both play live and Membrey has more "presence"

The goals he keeps kicking against us seem pretty real...

Simon white kicked 4 need I say anymore.

I'm not sure he's worth a top 5, they're probs getting him at par value. I wouldn't be willing to use a top five pick on a KPD. (as that seems to be his best position)

He's super talented, good clean hands at ground level for someone as tall as he is, can play KPD AND KPF, when he fills out he'll be fantastic. Might be the 3rd best tall in this year's draft behind Wright and McCartin (haven't seen a lot of Durdin though so I can't judge too well).

He didn't say Towers is a key forward, he was talking solely about Membrey, and the fact that we're looking for a KPF and Membrey isn't that, and isn't very quick either so he's not someone we need.

Ended up with
RD 1 - C Petracca
RD 2 - L Weller
RD 3 - S McLaren
RD 4 - D Viojo-Rainbow
RD 5 - E Langdon
in the BF Phantom Draft. Wouldn't mind that in November.
Where would Darcy Moore go if he wasn't a F/S? Is he just being hyped by Pies fans or do they have a genuine steal?
5-10 market value, but it's hard to tell as he's had injury issues. If he has an injury-free AFL career he could be the best forward in the draft.

Good job he has you to speak for him..
I was responding directly to his Dean Towers suggestion, not sure where that fits with your response tbh

Seems unnecessarily terse... Towers is a whippet quick running outside mid, Membrey is a somewhat less athletic Crameri type. We don't need Membrey's type, we do need Towers'

Possibly right on the terse, though I felt I was responding in kind..

I agree pace is required, but so are good marking forwards and Membrey is definitely that.
He is one I've watched play live and would love to see end up at a club I gave a shit about

Weller would be amazing if he falls that low, he is allegedly the better Weller

Just to be clear, I know the point of the exercise, I just meant it would be an amazing result for the saints of he were available for our 2nd pick

No Daniel :(
Sorry Perihery, but he's just not tall enough to be drafted ahead of any of those guys.

Better Weller by a lot. He's a gun Lachie, I've used the word 'smooth' to describe him 10000 times and I'll use it again, he's just silk.

Where DID McKenzie end up going in their mock? Or did he make it to the rookie draft?
#26 to Carlscum in the BFGN one. #24 to the Dogs in the BF version.

And now I hate everyone involved

Leaves our U23s as;

FB: Wright - Nielson - Webster
HB: Murdoch - Bruce - Vojo-Rainbow
RK: Longer - Weller - Dunstan
CR: Markworth - Newnes - Acres
HF: Billings - White - Saunders
FF: Templeton - McCartin - Pierce
Int: Ross, Curren, Siposs, Miller, Minchington*

Still some work to do...

Touk sounds good with good leadership, i like the the players we have drafted over these last few years all have good leadership about them.
Agreed, good work by the club to change the reputation of the club of having offseason drama over and over and over again

Don't know whether it's just inexperience &/or lack of desperation, but from what I've seen of Dean Towers, he ain't that quick.... Huge no from me! Can't believe he's 24 too, thought he was only about 19-20 yrs old

Towers impressed me he is bloody agile to. An outside mid with pace is just what we need. He would compliment js nicely. He would also cost us 0.

Just checked out his 2012 Combine results again... 2.89 for the 20mtr sprint (6th) and 24.48 for the repeat sprints (3rd) says he's quick... Very quick... Also a decent enough 13.8 in the beep test and 10.45 in the 3km trial.

Its particularly impressive when you consider that he was playing locally for Colac until 2011, then nearly an entire season in the Development League until he debuted in the Seniors during the VFL finals; to paraphrase, he'd had almost no grounding in an elite system, yet blew most of those kids away.

Ok, so he is pretty quick then.... but he's shit :p

We have Markworth anyway, who is 3 yrs younger than Towers. Just needs a clean run without injury
