I definitely see where you're coming from manimal. We've been able to pull off a couple of coups over the years with forwards, e.g. Gehrig. Perhaps a fresh and ready Clark could be our next manoeuvre? He would actually be a great get for us in some ways, provide excitement and goals leading into our next push to the four.

Mental health is a bitch. If he feels 100% up to it, I think we'd be stupid not to. Well, not quite to that extent, but to not consider it based solely on age (when another 5 years wouldn't be unrealistic) would be a bit silly.

But if he's not up to it mentally, we shouldn't even be thinking about it.

I hate other teams!
I wouldn't take Mitch Clark. He left Brisbane because he was 'homesick', missed his family & wanted to return to WA. Maybe he should have done that to start with instead of signing with Melbourne?

I see Nathan Fyfe is a FA at the end of his new deal (2018)
And openly declared that as being the reason for 'only' a 3 year deal -

http://www.afl.com.au/news/2014-06-26/fyfe-commits-to-freo

Fremantle's star midfielder signed the new deal on Wednesday, believed to be worth around $2.5 million.

"I think it suits both sides," Fyfe said on Thursday.

"Obviously commercially with the free agency window, it brings me out as an eight-year player, and Fremantle will have the first option to retain me as a free agent.

I'd take him in the PSD, pay him the minimum for 1 season to play at Sandringham, and then pawn him off to Freo/WCE next year for whatever they offer. Even if it's just a 3rd round pick it's still an upgrade on where we would be taking him.

Unless of course he decides he's happy to play seniors in which case I'd give him a few games to prove his worth ;)

He isn't out of contract until 2015 it's been said plenty of times. She also had Mitchell on the list but he is also contracted.

Bit risky going to the hawks I reckon. Love them as a team but a lot of 30+ guys, if I were him I'd probably go to Collingwood. Would be pretty tempting to join up with Swan, Beams, Pendles etc.

would geelong be interested in mundy? richmond, north would be ideal

shiel what about richmond?
I suspect Mundy has already signalled his intentions to a specific club and I also suspect it will be with a Victorian club in premiership contention. That rules a line through Richmond and to a certain extent North. Hawthorn and Collingwood would be my tip.

At 28 and considering our mission statement, can't see us going for Clarke.
Hold on. Mitch Clark is currently 26. He turns 28 AFTER the end of next season (in October 2015).

The mission statement is top 4 by 2018 - Clark would be 30 then - And a flag by 2020, Clark would be 32 then. Not a spring chicken, but absolutely within that window.

Plenty of reasons not to get Mitch but IMO age is not one of them.

My real question is, who is this year's Delaney? A player who is playing second fiddle to a gun in his role/position, and thus is not getting any games - therefore seriously underrated, and thus cheap, but still actually awesome.
Few names here not sure what others think, only naming names obviously so it doesn't mean i want them at St Kilda or St Kilda will get them.

Luke Thompson (Adel) 194cm/88kg Pick 17 in 2010 - Behind Daniel Talia as a KPD has had some injury problems though i think.. But remember his final in 2012 played very well.

Mitch Brown (Gee) 196cm - I don't rate him much but a swingman type so behind a few at Geelong.

Tom Clurey (Port) - Behind Hombsch, Trengove and Carlile. KPD Sam Fisher type.

Ben Griffiths (Rich) - KPF/KPD/Ruck you'd probably get him cheap, but being behind Edwards, Vickery and Hampson.......Tigers fans seem to rate him high

Tim Membrey (Syd) - Behind Goodes, Reid, Franklin, Tippett etc not an easy task.

Tommy Walsh (Syd) - Absolute star. Behind those named above but at a new club he'd flourish :p (Sarcasm).

But i don't really know have a look here and take your pick.

Luke Thompson and membrey please. FYI that was pick 17 in 2010 Rookie draft! So wouldn't cost a bundle that a first round pick in a national draft would
