Peter Wright could be a "beast". He may end up around 205cm and he is already 100kg and yet to me he has those really broad shoulders, so he looks like he'll fill out even more pretty effortlessly, yet they reckon he also runs the 20m in 3 seconds dead and has an elite tank, not to mention elite kicking for goal, so there are some pretty bloody good ingredients there. Lets not forget that he's missed a lot of footy in recent years, too, so he may only just be getting back into the swing of it now. Really hope he has a huge end to the season to give us something to really think about.
He's also supposed to be able to do some wicked stuff on the lead. At the risk of offending rucks, anyone can learn it ( Holmes, Pyke, anyone who has ever played basketball ) but a lot of reputable people really really rate Wright's forward game.

The TAC Cup team that he plays for has two others who are over 200cm so hopefully Wright will play mostly forward again for the Cannons for the rest of the year and have a couple of killer games there (especially in the finals). He did have one really good game in the ruck at the champs, but otherwise it seems like he was a bit meh there and might be better up forward at this point in time. Kicked 4 of his teams 7 goals on the weekend, so it's hard to complain about that.

KM updated his mock
McKenzie at 51 is interesting, but more so because KM rates him 20-Rookie...

Doesn't really narrow it down much does it!

Defacto, you're a WAFL man; is South Fremantle's big Cameron Loersch worth a rookie spot? I know he's an overager, but a 19yr old 203cm 102kg full forward is nothing to sneeze at. 48 goals in 14 matches ain't to shabby either,

Who does the Carpet Snake train with?
On his own, Burkey & another former player regularly train there also..

It's not often a player of Wright's height can consistently play the KF position with real success..Probably got to go back to Paul Salmon, who was around 206cm..At 19 & playing solely out of the goalsquare, he'd kicked 63 goals by rd 12..(1983) & well on track for a century..! Did his knee in rd 13, & probably never reached his true potential..then again I've seen Plugger ave 5.5 to 7.5 goals a game..(min 10 games) over 6 or 7 years..& he actually was only 190cm..But he was a freak..!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If his one on one contested marking & agility ticks the box, this size of forward would be very hard to stop..The concept of a quality man mountain stalking our goalsquare, & rag dolling opposition defenders is what dreams are made of..

Herald sun (yeah not great) reckon Peter Wright is better than Joe Daniher and he looks like he'll be a decent player.
Terry Wallace reckons McCartin is the clear choice for no.1, so it looks like it's Petracca for us then!

Is there any chance of Wright playing full time forward for the end of the year? Reckon he needs a bag or two of 6+ goals and then he becomes ours.
Every chance, Calder play Kovacevic in the ruck.

Re Lamb, I still wouldn't take him at 27. Start looking at him in the 30s.

Some snippets from Knightmares write up

#1 St Kilda – Patrick McCartin (VIC - KPF)

a rare ability to take the ball down low at his toes on the lead with cleanness like you’ve never seen.
He’s also for a key forward got rare ability when the ball hits the deck with his pickups, picking it up cleanly and without fumbling and having the ability to quickly get it onto his boot or off to someone in better position by hand.

Probably best fits our current kicking to Roo

havent seen him to be honest... interesting. i wonder if he's a ruckman who dominates at colts level because of his height though. could be another notte

i'd take him at pick 21
McCartin the stay at home tall forward and Lamb the roaming medium forward. That could set up our forward line for the next decade. I would take Lamb at 21 in a heartbeat but sadly I see him going mid first round. A team like Freo would be all over him, if he lasts to their pick.

I'm a lover, not a fighter
I'll be glad if I'm wrong about McCartin and Pelchen's Spreadsheet. :)

However, I wonder if Lamb's disciplinary issues mean he's not on there. Apparently character is a massive parameter for Pelchen, and the kind of thing he might get pretty choosey about.

I say that, while also really loving the idea of getting Lamb, as many have seen in this thread already.
